Would there be any room left for a slice of Jumbo Prince after 3 courses?

Ok, what does that mean?
so, 4 days to go & they realise that no-one is going? shouldn't they have opened this to the public a bit sooner?

The Jumbo Prince is going. Perhaps he'll talk about all the shots at goal he missed in the 78 GF  (for the record he kicked 2.3)

Been saying that for years. Norwood and Sturt always pull a good crowd at night so no reason Sturt v Port, Glenelg, North etc. would not do the same. Not Centrals though because they can not behave themselves at night !
Sturt would probably not want to play Norwood as their home game for obvious reasons but would a loss on the ground with a profit at the gate be better than a loss at Unley and no profit at the gate ????

KEN WHELAN LUNCHEON at BarZaar.
There is an official club luncheon at BarZaar this Friday 30th where Rick Davies is the guest speaker.
It has not been advertised until now because it was an invitation luncheon to Bequest Society members.
.

Isn't the bequest society a charity Centurion?
Aren't you drawing a bit of a long bow saying low interest from a charity group in the SFC amounts to Sturt fans not supporting their side?

I haven’t read through all this thread, but have Sturt thought about using Thebby for some home games? Not sure how much it would cost them since Thebby is owned by the SAAFL these days, but it would save their volunteers and workers all the hassle from the temporary fencing and all the other work that is involved with their home games. And since they are using Coopers Stadium for 2 home games next season its clear that it'll save them money playing away from Unley Oval.
Obviously they would need to figure out with the SAAFL regarding gate takings, canteen and bar set ups, but since the oval is barely used during the season it might be a good option for them. Nice sized oval too, and they can also play night games there.
Just a thought

The way the SAAFL charge and run things for the hire of Thebby could actually be worse than Unley

Norwood is closer, better and has more facilities and atmosphere. I would imagine Norwood would cost less ( if anything ) than Thebbie.

But do Norwood really want Sturt using their changerooms, creating their own history at the parade. Lol

I wasnt sure what the SAAFL would charge an SANFL team. We got stung $1000 and SAAFL took all gate takings and canteen when we played a final there a few years ago. SAAFL seem to be pricing themselves out of SANFL games. I'm interested to see what they charged the Magpies when they played the Eagels there at the start of this season.

You can't blame the SANFL for standing up for the league's sponsor. Standard practice. Although I can't understand why Norwood would be allowed to be sponsored by Coopers and North not.

Maybe Norwood had a sponsorship that pre-dated the West End agreement and was worked in? I'm not sure, but will endeavour to find out.

The Norwood association with Coopers goes back decades and was in place before the West End deal was struck. This is why it has been allowd to stay in place.
I am as loyal to Coopers as I am to Norood for 2 reasons :
1. Coopers is the best beer by far IMHO.
2. If it was not for Coopers in our not to distant dark days I don't believe the Norwood Football Club would be in existence today !
