In hindsight, probably true. The SANFL made it clear there must be a Magpie in the SANFL so thats how it is...

Maybe the maggies in the last 13 seasons should have brought some clubrooms with the 1 million dollars they were given. You know have a social area for your fans, future revenue streams with pokies etc......

Im sure the Port fans will work out a way to blame the SANFL for that stupid decision.

Matthew Lokan has more chance of playing in another AFL grand Final than Port do surviving to 2011.

They had club rooms and social facilities, it's called Alberton. What they had to spend a large chunk of that so called handout was building new training facilities at Ethelton, setting up new admin and chasing new sponsors.

Must be nice living the high life out at Pokie Districts.

That last post was a bit too cryptic for me. However, if you want to educate yourself on the past history of the club, "Poms to Premiers" is a good reference.

Toss of a Coin, a mainly SANFL footy memorabilia shop on Unley Rd. Quite interesting.

Central actually won Their first flag whilst the new club was under construction, funds provided by way of a large loan. The previous extension in the old club was funded by bingo money. So, next dig please, come on, We can handle it, We're all on Centrelink, so We're all thick-skinned, dole-bludging losers.

And Port Adelaide couldn't wait to move to Ethelton where they could just sit pretty on that $1M "handout".

Good on the Doggies for their recent success...........As they will quite openly admit to anyone - they built their dynasty on the Port Adelaide Magpies template.

After a day-long battle Mickeyj, I will agree with you there - it's pretty hard to throw stones at the doggies with the success they have had ... throwing flares though, is a differant matter

It is interesting to note that there is only 1 player (Power and Magpies) to donate money towards the club (Port Magpies) is Ivan Maric. Hats off to the kid concidering he has had no real ties with the club. Come from Calder, plays for the Crows but yet can part way with some coin for the Maggies, well done mate, wake up Tredders etc......
