Despite some whispers he was heading back to the Eagles, Ben Schwarze is gone from the SANFL altogether...

Schwarze "pulls the pin" on SANFL

FULL FLIGHT: At his best Schwarze was one of the SANFL's most dangerous forwards.

OUTGOING North Adelaide forward Ben Schwarze has ended speculation on where he will play in 2010 by revealing he is moving back to Melbourne.

The 26-year-old will play under his brother former St Kilda utility Troy Schwarze for Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula.

``I’ve pulled the pin on SA, I’m going back to Melbourne,’’ Schwarze said.

``It’s a massive workload playing SANFL footy. I do a 40 hour week as a carpenter and then with training on top of that and trying to get up to play on the weekend, it’s just a bit much.

``I’m pretty excited to be heading back to be honest. My brother is captain-coach at Sorrento so I’ll play with him.’’

Schwarze joined Woodville-West Torrens in 2007 after spending two years on North Melbourne’s list.

He led the Eagles goal-kicking in his first season, kicking 49 goals, before being used more as a defender in 2008, which prompted his move away from Oval Ave.

His career at North started well he kicked six goals in a match-winning performance against Port Adelaide in Round Three, before losing form and finishing the season in the Reserves.

He finished with 22 goals from 13 games at the Roosters.

``Football-wise I think I could’ve got more out of myself,’’ Schwarze said.

``I had some really good games but I didn’t have the consistency I was after.’’

He has made a good decision, finally realises that the problem was him, not the two relatively successful clubs he played for.

You should have taken bloods08's advice the first time, instead of proving him right again.

Good news.

Lokan sums up Port Adelaide. Old Slow Fat Useless but for some strrnge reason he still thinks he is awesome.

Good to See Matthew Richardson has finally been appointed to an official role at the power. He is the head of the Specialist Trained Fitness Unit. Or as it says on his business cards the PAFC head of STFU.
