Still can not see how the SAAFL will benefit at all having their best A1 teams flogged every week and playing a full season for the right to finish second.
Good point about comparing the development of Port players and Crows players next year.

Goodwood Saints and Henley don't exist to finish second.

Don't think any Division 1 club would be impressed by the recent statements from the SAAFL CEO.

Maybe the Crows might have to play in the Hills League or Southern League ?????
No offence to those competitions !
This fiasco should spell the end of Steven Trigg's career at the Crows. His bluff was called and now the Crows can not back down and look very foolish sucking up to the SAAFL now.

Has the SAAFL executive put out an official response or position on the Crows intentions? If so where can i find it? What about the respective Div 1 clubs thoughts? Are they one with the SAAFL executive or again is their difference of opinion?

The Crows should swallow their pride and play in the SANFL Reserves. The only way they can prove their point ... or disprove it ! ;)

Nothing of substance apart from the CEO comments and a statement saying there has been no official approach by the AFL club.

Also clubs have no say on new teams entering the league.

Who says the ammo teams would get flogged?
The bottom players in the Crows list are mostly ammo standard anyway and then their top up players will be kids or whoever they can rustle up from the lower divs

The fitness levels alone would put the Crows team way above any ammo team....

adelaidefc claims that some weeks only 1 "top up" player will be required.

If I am correct you can have 38 players on your main list, 2 veterans and 4 rookies. Total 44 players.

So if 22 play AFL and you are playing away that becomes 23 with a travelling emergency. That leaves 21 players including all veterans and rookies.

I will take a look into it but I would doubt any club at any point this season would have had all 44 players available.

If this goes ahead, will Goodwood Saints & PHOS Camden look to join Division 1 of the Southern League?

Would not be a good look for the SAAFL if that happened, 1 is the most successful division 1 club post 2000 and the other has had a turn at the top of the tree in the same period.....

Port only had Ebert on the injury list for Round 1 from memory.

Adelaide also have 47 players on their list so may not require any top up players some weeks

That aside for now, Lets look at this example Mitch Grigg for example doesnt get picked for some reason. I think Sando must think the guy looks funny because this boy can play. So he goes and plays Div 1 Ammo's.......Now Grigg in the Ammo's will get 72 touches in the first half, seriously this boy can play. Then get picks to play AFL. Now the step up from Div 1 ammos to the AFL is going to be large lets say. I can't see how that is good for development.

Whats wrong with Grigg playing for Norwood. Tambling playing for Sturt?
The way it is now, if you want to get pick in the league side of an SANFL club you will have to be playing well. AFL listed players have been dropped before.

Exactly. Something's not adding up. I have always had suspicions that this isn't just about player development. It sh*ts them that another league can often get 10k supporters a round doesn't it?
