What, should I have not posted the link to the article Dedja, to reiterate some of the earlier thread discussion?

No, not at all ... just mentioning that it wasn't 'new' news, that's all.

Crows: "We're not bluffing! We're going to the SAAFL!"

Everyone else: "Excellent! Great news! F*** off then!".
It's all the SANFL's fault.

It is a little bit funny. Trigg back in the job for a month and he has negotiated the Crows to play in the SAAFL. The reason - his proposal didn't pass the integrity test. Oh the ironing (sic)!

Brilliant if true

Then we can see what (if any) support the crows reserves get after a whole season in A1 where tickets are free.
If they cant pull a crowd, the we have dodged a bullet. If their 4K crowd stacks up, then maybe (MAYBE?) it has merit.
I am 99% sure the crowd numbers wont stack up though!

If its true, it will be interesting to see how the amateurs handle it. For their own clubs, playing against highly paid professionals and a number of top up recruits.
In the other thread one of David's answers says the advantage is retaining afl players in the sanfl. He must have forgotten port still will have afl players playing in the sanfl. Lets see whose players develop better. The crows are making a decision to increase their expenses and perhaps hinder ( yet to be proven) their players development. Not very commercially astute.

You should be proud too Sabre. Ironically my old man despite remaining a Norwood supporter joined up as a North member in the early 80s because North seemed like a good family club that listened to its members where Nor wood seemed pompous and run by corporate greed. Oh how he times have changed! :(

If it is infact true that the Directors don't want this, then given the commision has endorsed the proposal shouldnt the commission be standing down effective immediately. They are clearly not acting in the best interests of the clubs

Yep, the Commission are useless and totally irrelevent and redundant. The clubs should piss them completely off.

Careful what you wish for Adelaide, with the SAAFL option you could be creating a situation that was facing the Sydney Swans when their reserves played in the old Sydney league before they went to the ACT league.

Think it was Josh Willoughby collected 60 touches in a game yet did nothing at the next level (did he even play a game?) You will now be facing the same problems......

Ive heard calls for the comission to overule the league directors decisions if it is a No vote.
Is this possible?

This is my favourite answer to a question in the Q&A forum...

14) is the reserves deemed a higher standard than the saafl?
Not by people at the Club who watch a lot of football. It’s not so much the overall standard, it’s the type of bodies and experience the players will come up against. A1 is full of former SA league and reserves players, and the overall quality is pretty good.

Erm, what is the SANFL reserves made up of? Current SA league and reserves players....

I must be missing something here
