They'd get more in Darwin, Canberra and Hobart 'coz the people living in those places know what footy is!!!!

Your argument defeats itself. A bit like the GWS' recruiting plan. ;)

Phil, you know as we'll as anyone that Ben Newton was in the League squd until Graham Johncock was dropped. Shows just how easy Port Adelaide are to work with when they replace one of their own to allow a Crows player to regain form.

And you also know very well that people like Graham Cornes still sing the praises of how co-operative Port Adelaide have always been when it comes to dealing with Crows players.

I don't think Jacobs is a small crumbing forward. I assumed he was dropped because he wasn't good enough to be in the League side, which, at the time, was the reason he was in West's 2's.

Why not drop another player to allow Newton to play league? That's what was expected of his previous club.

Geelong treat their VFL club as a part of Geelong Football Club but the senior coach has no control over match day and what happens. Geelong care about winning because Geelong is hungry for success and want both clubs to have success. The VFL side is also used in player development for juniors and local league players with talent to play at a higher level than GFL, GDFL and BFL. Also it gives the cats a chance to recruit a former AFL or VFL player to see how they play and to see if they still have it to make the AFL.

Huh? Just admit you were wrong.
BTW you say the AFL is growing and SANFL is dying, yet the SANFL are drawing more people to some games than one particular AFL game on the weekend.

Not defending kickinit ( by any means ) but to use a GWS home crowd to highlight AFL attendances is folly.[/quote]

What's GWS salary cap ??? 9 million

Sanfl club $400k. I agree the crowds shouldn't be comparable at all.

Here you, MagicKiwi, this should get it back on track...

THE AMAZING ADVENUTRES OF ERIC

After feeling quite unwanted over the last few weeks, Eric has spent the his last few days boxed up in the boot of my car, driving around Adelaide. He was frustrated at not being able to get out, more.

He fondly remembered back to the days when he was 'let out of his box' to stretch out and see some of the footballing state. He recently enjoyed his time as a temporary fence but knew that really wasn't for him.

Just hanging around is what Eric loves to do. So, today, I managed to let him have some fresh air and get out and about. Who can guess which local football ground Eric revealed himself at, earlier today?
