Take it from someone who's delivered his fair share, that is one crap statement.

Not sure whether the Eagles choked - can't recall too many bad kicks, easy dropped marks, panicky frees, etc.
I think Centrals come back is testament to their belief and slightly better fitness against an Eagles side that was just about shagged for the last ten minutes.

i thought that centrals got back into the game once the eagles player stated to get nackered. but it was a great effort for the dogs to come back and in the end a greater effort by the eagles to hold them off to win.
great game of footy one team put every thing into it to win the other didnt know how to lose and had a real crack when they hadnt played that well for most of the day!

One of those was when I think one of the Gowans had his head over the ball and went into Goldsworthy; who had no real alternative apart from standing back and letting him run away with it. Instead he tried to tackle, and was penalised for it.

disagree with the ride part. Central had two clear as day normally given 99.999999% of time frees not paid both in front of goa,l one ten metres out the other 40 meters out. First being Goodrem in the first quarter and Gowans in the last quarter both should have been paid holding the ball to these two.
it may have affected the outcome i suppose BUT the BEST team on the day won no doubt about it.

Yes, it was Lee Spurr who took the ball out of the ruck contest and threw it onto the boot for a frantic, last ditch attempt to pinch the Premiership.
Spurr had 11 disposals 3 or 4 clearances, kicked 1.1 and took that spectacular mark (I think?) in the last term, That quarter alone was one of the best individual I have seen in a Grand Final in at least 20 years.
If the Dogs had have got up* and won the GF, yes, I would suggest that either Lee Spurr or Paul Thomas would have got the Jack Oatey Medal.
Spurr should find himself drafted into AFL ranks next season, surely?

Yeah, but is that only in your opinion though, perhaps or is it a common thought amongst fellow Double Blues fans?
That being said, that was another one I thought about a little bit but from memory Squire was more the skillfull, flashy player.
Powell's body work and 1%'ers on the day were great, his defensive efforts were relentless and stood out.
