What threat no one gives a rats toss bag about watchin AFL reserves 99% of AFL footy followers are only interested in watching the MAIN AFL GAME.

I suggest you check the crowd attenandces for the home and away and Grand Finals of the VFL the PSEUDO AFL reserves comp over the last 10 odd years not very flattering yes thats right the home of football in Melbourne with a population FOUR times that of Adelaide the STATS SAY IT ALL.

The standing of a competition consists of more than just crowd attendances. If they create a proper standalone AFL reserves competition, you'll probably find an extra 50+ SANFL players removed from the SANFL. This is what will effect the standing. Try to think beyond your nose.

Garbage!!!

Whats garbage? That the standing of a competition consists of more than crowd numbers? Or that we'll see 50+ players drafted to AFL clubs to fill reserves lists?

Why are we listening to a man talk about integrity that was suspended from his job for lack of integrity? Anything he has to say is null and void given his history. Probably not the best spokesperson the Crows could be using to sell this idea.

What I have concerns about is the future of the sanfl clubs attracting young supporters. In years to come the afl clubs will have junior supporters following crows & power clubs with no allegiance to traditional sanfl clubs. It will be a slow dying death for clubs like south, west, eagles,
As for crows entering armature league, what a joke they will flog each side by 20 goals or more. With guys training 6 days against 2 nights a week & earning 100k+ a year some how I can't see that being good for anyone.

I don't think they have any genuine intention of joining the amateur league.

Would like to know if the Cows have immunity from being relegated in the SAAFL?
With their bottom of the list players struggling to get a kick at ressies level and no guarantee of their top up players being any good, a spate of injuries could see them playing in Div 2
That would be friggin hilarious

Same could be said of the Cows
Have a large older brigade of support.
I know only a handfull of Cows supporters under 30 and in my sons under 15 footy side there would be less than 6 kids out of the squad of 28 that barrack for them.
More kids in that side barrack for the Suns

Who was the player on Life FM yesterday who said he would like the Crows to come in as he enjoys playing against AFL listed players? He said it would be a good challenge.

That is a bit concerning. What do other players think about this? Has anyone asked them?

Most players are of the same opinion, they want to play at the highest level, at the best standard, it's only natural.

I never take what the players want into consideration. How many players play 200 games at sanfl level these days at the same club? They are playing sanfl for 5-10 years. Supporters are for life.

that's right, The Club is bigger than the individual. Without supporters, there IS no club.

Has the SAAFL actually thought about what the Crows in A1 would do to their credibility ?
In all probability the other A1 clubs would be playing for the honour of being runner up.
If the reverse somehow happened and the Crows did not dominate then the Crows would be the laughing stock of football nation wide.
A lose/lose situation for all concerned.
The Crows going into SAAFL can only be a bluff from Trigg.

Dutchy i think i have been very civil David is very welcome on this site .

But still no AFC official can answer all our concerns

How will it benefit the SANFL and clubs like Sturt West who are financially struggling and my club from memory made a loss last year ????

Why is their a reduction of the salary cap of $20,000 i would of thought if you take away players from a club you need more money to recruit replacements ?????

How will crowds increase when there has been a decrease in Crow and Power numbers ovet the last three years

Most AFL footy fans are only interested in the MAIN game and not reserves

With the current economic climate footy fans cannot afford to go to both the MAIN game and RESERVES game

A hypothetical increase of 4,000 footy fans to these games is just pie in the sky

If this is such a fantastic concept explain to us all why the VFL is a flop

I suggest AFC officials do a lot of research of what has happened in WAFL and the VFL

If the AFC is really serious about all their players being in one group why not play them in the SANFL reserves for a couple of years to gauge the amount of interest and not make idle threats of we will paly them in the ammos

GEEZ where do I stop there is multitude of IF'S HOW'S WHY'S many questions have been asked on this forum by very astute followers of the SANFL so i suggest the AFC have a read of all these posts and give us response to all our questions.

THE APACHE SAYS CROW SPEAK WITH FORKED TONGUE !!!!!!!
SANFL 2000 - 2011 Central District 12 consecutive Grand Final appearances and 9 Premierships.

We are being told that having 10 teams with each team playing each other twice adds to the integrity of the comp. I wonder then if the Crows will in turn be lobbying the AFL to ensure they have an even fixture also? If not then why? Clearly they see having an even fixture as important for integrity yet they do nothing about the horribly flawed fixture in their comp. Sort out your own backyard before messing with someone elses.

I can't see how having teams playing the same amount of times adds integrity. Such a weak argument.

Absolutely is and moreso given how terribly uneven the fixture is in the AFL. They are clutching at straws big time.
