A dividend is a return on an investment, is it not?

You expect the SANFL to stump up the cash for the licence and then take no return?

Can someone please advise how much the SANFL actually paid for the licences?
My understanding is that a licence fee of $4.0m each was paid to the AFL. I know that Port paid their $4.0m over a 5 year period, and I have assumed the Crows did the same?

Let me guess You couldnt provide any proof that port paid theirs back in half time if we asked for it ????

I wonder why ??

Let's keep it that way.

Fine, stop taking your dividends and hand back the AFL Licenses that the AFL clubs have paid for.

Simple really.

Agree with posts since this beenreal, buy out your licence and come to an arrangement to pay back some of the millions that the SANFL have dumped into your club in the last few years. Next time when you need a bail out like North Melbourne you can go cap in hand to the AFL and see where that gets you.

Gee what a surprise that you agree with more Port bashing.

UKs article talks about since 2007. Port Adelaide have been paying a dividend in addition to $400k for the License per year since 1997.

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story?

Lets try again.Any chance you could show us in ports financials where these payments were made could you.

Cos yet again pafcs financials from 97-06 the numbers certainly dont back up what your claiming happened.

Even if you did pay off $4mill in that time (which you didn't) are you ignoring the $17mill in handouts since.

Your not assuming again are you been real ??? You are aware why you have to Pay dividends ??

Welcome to episode 401 of UK's Port Adelaide Finance debate.

Not sure about 5 years but it's on record that both AFL clubs have paid back their License Fees (and no they're not renting them).

Those same public records show multi-million dollar dividends paid into SANFL coffers from both clubs at least until 2007.

Feel free to look it up yourself.

I tell you what lets go with your story thats on public record . It just cant be located right now lets me guess.

So from 1997 - 2006 PAFC paid 4$mill back in licence fees.

Then from 2007-2011 the sanfl granted PAFC $16.75 mill in grants.

Wouldnt that mean the licence fee has been given back to you. More than 4 times over ???? Or are you being rainman again .

At least Rainman got his facts straight.

Previous evidence provided by UK Fan suggests $14.75M paid to the PAFC. The fact that UK Fan can't even get his own evidence correct suggests a need to do more research to support his argument.

I look forward to that evidence determining the Dividend paid into SANFL coffers by Port Adelaide from 1997-2007, IN ADDITION to paying back the License Fee.

I think UK even makes mention of that $14m figure in his signature. I like his signature, it means so much to me.

We all do. When are you going to provide the evidence.

I mean if you are so certain and its on public record. You should be able to reference your claim surely ???

Are you trying to claim port has paid $4 mill licence fees and in addition more than $10.75 mill in dividends since 1997.
Cos if you aren't what's your point. ??

You still don't believe the sanfl gave you back what you make them do you ???

Maybe re- read below Schultzy. You'll note the auditor doesn't state the grants are just ports revenue being returned to them which means it doesn't affect the sanfls bottom line.

Can you guess why it doesn't state that ???

More than welcome to point them out.

See I have proof of my claims Schultzy, Port Adelaide costs sanfl yearly and is having a huge detrimental effect on the sanfls financial position.

YOu can deny it all you want, but until you have an sanfl auditor agree with your propoganda......................no point us arguing really.

Dont worry though, Im sure Booney will be around to slap you on the back soon enough.

That will cheer you up.

If people want to find out how much 'Dividend' has been paid by PAFC to the SANFL since 2007 it can be found by a simple google search on Port Adelaide Football Club annual report. You will see the ' Dividend' is recorded as SANFL sub licence distribution or Sub licence distribution in the financial statements and the figures since 2007 are:
2007 $325,000
2008 $334,750
2009 $344,790
2010 $355,135
2011 $365,790

Hope this helps to clarify.
