I read that when it first went up and wondered about Thommo's reaction to Roy's words.

A bit over the top by Laird. When you go for a new job or are approached by a company or organisation you don't go wanting them to be ringing your current employer. Geez Thomas has given Centrals and the SANFL great service and was well entitled to pursue a career outside playing. Angry f%#ker Laird may be angrier trying to replace those losses from this season. Can see a big slide down the ladder at Elizabeth in 2016 at this rate and in keeping with the current mood in the Northern Suburbs.

Hopefully Centrals don't appoint anyone from a lower league without speaking to their club first.

Don't blame Centrals for being angry, this is exactly what Adelaide did to West Adelaide when they tried to poach Porplycia, I know West were hopping mad over this...simple lack of respect.

Laird needs to pull his head in. Good on him for sticking up for his club but this stuff happens all the time . He certainly has it in for the AFL clubs !

So its ok for a person to go from the AFL (Carr) to the SANFL but not SANFL to the AFL. Nice logic #-o

Players are contracted to October 31 - At least the courtesy of waiting could be afforded before approaching SANFL players

At the end of the day it is Thomas's decision so maybe Roy should be directing his anger at him instead of the Crows?

Thommo had already committed to Centrals for next season and had addressed the players, but at the end of the day he has to take the opportunity. However it's a bit hypocritical of the Crows to complain about Essendon not approaching them before speaking to Worsfold and then doing the same thing.

One was in season during finals week and the other four weeks after Central were eliminated from the finals.

Very close situations

Oh the irony. Crows supporters invented whinging.

How many SANFL assistant coaches being offered $70k a year for a full time position ?????

I doubt they'd receive $20k a year at traditional SANFL clubs. The inequality of this is incredible.

Well said Roy. Phone call dont care about tbh.

But talking a SANFL legend into early retirement is a disgraceful act.

Don't you have enough retired x-players after 25 years in existence you could've approached .
