The whole club is a basket case.

A bit rich.

Either is it a joke of a competition in which the SANFL clubs shouldn't bother or it is a ridgie didge comp in which the reputation of SA football is on the line.

Make up your mind.

No the Magpies (and West) need to make up there mind, if you enter you put your clubs, and in turn your leagues, reputation on the line, and they both failed miserably.

I dont think anyone could defend todays result, if it was Glenelg I would be ropeable.

Have to agree to a point.

I understand resting SOME players and resting them in a Foxtel Cup game rather than in a SANFL league encounter makes sense.

But Port seem to have gone overboard with their selection for this one. (with the wonderful benefit of hindsight).

Seems the Port Magpies underestimated the strength of their opponents and the karma bus backed up over them big time!

Don't see the sense of a training session either, the entire match committee should be sacked instead for being arrogant and picking a reserves side

No the Magpies (and West) need to make up there mind, if you enter you put your clubs, and in turn your leagues, reputation on the line, and they both failed miserably.

I dont think anyone could defend todays result, if it was Glenelg I would be ropeable.

Dutchy you are correct. West agreed to play in this comp and when they realised they have a chance of playing finals in the SANFL they put in their magoos. If you enter a comp you should try to win it.

Hows Nth Melb going today Dutchy?
Would've thought if they're gonna play in the AFL they'd put in some sort of effort rather than the 100 point flogging they're getting ATM. ;)
And i'm not laughing either, only having Hawthorn to win up to 60pts in my footyquad and to think i thought North were a good chance of winning.

About as relevent as to how his NBA team or his Norwegian curling team is going.
At least Nth Melbourne are losing to someone in their league not someone from about 5 leagues beneath them.

Disagree Strawb. I think when West draw a WA team in WA they decided that would take too much out of the players. Had it been here or Victoria I think a better team would have been put on the park

They entered the comp knowing there was a good chance they could end up in Perth, Darwin or Brisbane.

It will be interesting to see what effect today's result or West's thumping at the hands of Claremont has on next years competition.

I have not seen anything to indicate that Central, Eagles, Norwood, Glenelg or Sturt will change their minds re competing.

It was certainly a fillett for South to go to the MCG but they are winless since and won't have a break until July 14 at the earliest. (At least all bar 1 player got a break for the state game).
That said I think they would be a yes at this stage if invited.

As West start to become a premiership contender would they have second thoughts about 2013 if invited?

Port will probably say yes because of their AFL reliance.

North ?

Have you been to WA MT79

But you're right, it is a ridiculous argument. On par with west coast/freo whinging about the travel they have to do.

The SANFL is embarrassing itself by entering and then having teams treat the competition with such disdain...

... if teams are not going to complete properly, then why bother being involved.

The great thing about the SANFL Comp is that our clubs are able to decide what is good for us and not just say amen to what the world thinks we ought to.
To tow the party line or not to tow the party line. That is the question!
