I still can never sleep the night before a GF CP. I always get way to nervous.

Thankfully buck show tomorrow so hopefully that will help past the time/calm the nerves/make me pass out + St Kilda fan.

HINT for Norwood fans firstly have a great day the SANFL GF is a "special" day to quote Mr Mcavenney.

SECONDLY. Dont go to the PREMIERS BAR unless you like hearing all the different CDFC chants adnauseum.

Buck show for me tomorrow aswell. Doesn't happen to be in the Barossa area, does it?

Ah the arrogance never ceases to amaze. Norwood have won more GF's than Centrals have even been in.......

Very true. The six in a row from 1878 were classics ( I think it was 10 before 1900)?. Twenty wins before world war 2, five since Central have been in the league. To be fair some Norwood fans wouldn't have been to too many. I didn't take the comments as being arrogant. But some are more sensitive than others.

Anyway, back to the game itself...

Watched most of the PF during the week and the Legs will clearly need to put in a more consistent 4 quarters to be a real chance of getting up. Decision making and disposal was pretty poor at times and I hope big possession getter James Gallagher can improve his effective disposal percentage.

Defence and midfield seem pretty solid, but the forward line is a bit of worry.
I'm guessing that 12-15 goals will need to be kicked for a winning score, which means big games from at least a few key forwards. I know Davis is named in defence, but he looks a far better option up forward based on the Eagles game, especially with Rowe set to do a lot of ruck work.

BTW, the goal Philips kicked in the 3rd quarter would have to be one of the best ever at Footy Park, especially being from the "Tony Hall pocket".

Spot on about Norwood's start and disposal. If it's as bad as last weeks, it'll be a blood bath.

Earlier question regarding losing first four games and going on to win the flag.

I'll stand corrected, but I'm pretty sure Norwood were 0-4 in 1984.

I get just as nervous every year, you would think after 11 in a row you would be fairly used to it, and the grand final day/week routine I am used to, but I still get extremley excited in the build up, not very much sleep on the Saturday night, or the Sunday night ;)

Sorry sjt [-X but you're wrong - the ones prior to 1900 were not GFs they didn't play them until about 1930 - the premiership was simply awarded to the minor premier.

Well done on being offended for no reason. Sounded like a recommendation to enjoy the day - quite sporting, is it not?

I am pretty sure I will always be nervous before a Grand Final. This year I am even more nervous as the majority of my students are Norwood supporters and I know I will cop it big time if they do defeat us, especially as I am one of only a handful of Central supporters at the college.
In the leadup to the GF, thankfully I have Grade Cricket to take my mind off football tomorrow.
Good luck to both sides btw ( and I do mean in the GF).
Cheers

Nope, the Legs 84 minor round was
L, L, L, W, L, L, W, W, L, W, L, W, W, L, W, W, W, W, L, W, W, W.
(source SANFL 1984 annual report)

Past history mean nothing, games (GFs or otherwise) are decided on the day.

I think that WestCoast Panther doesn't like Centrals. Or its supporters.

LOL Cheers mate .. Im actually quite glad the AFL Granny is on tomorrow so can get on the sauce and hopefully find myself distracted until Sunday morning.

Wouldn't say that I "like" hearing all the Doggies fanfare, but will be looking to catch up with some of your mob for a beer at some stage.

Funny part is last year was in bigger than 2008, expecting this year to be bigger again cant wait, premiers bar before a Central GF greatest atmosphere in Australian sport.
