I think we'd most of us be fine with that - for the millionth time just not in the Sanfl.

why not? if you where a true supporter you would support your club no matter who they are playing. So the only thing that will effect your club is they will loose a couple of players that have afl contracts.

As a true supporter of my club and the league in which it plays I will never - NEVER - go to watch them play a circus game against a rubbish AFL team.

If you where (sic) a true supporter of the SANFL then you'd do the same.

Correct!!!

I'd personally watch my team against anyone. Enjoyed games against Melbourne, Collingwood, the NTFL and Quenbeyan. All wins too :)

So now your questioning how true of a supporter other posters are while posing yourself as the 'ultimate' supporter.

He never said he wouldnt support his club, his purely said he wouldnt go to a game involving a reserves side against his league side.

I presume you go to every single Port Magpies and Power game then.

where do you think all crows supporters over 30 came from?

Mostly Bays supporters id imagine, considering the side was made up of them.
I dont actually know many Norwood supporters who support the Cows

Then I wouldn't be passing judgement on anyone who won't attend there sanfl club playing a virtual trial game against an afl reserves team.

who 100% will be more interested in player development than winning the gf no matter what any afl goober says.
Have you ever heard a crows/power official ever once mention in its justification for entering our league they want their emergencies to experience the prestige of winning a premiership in the oldest football league in Australia ???? GUESS WHY.

Do not even attempt to say its a crap argument .

VFA and WAFL supporters have left in droves due to the above situation!!! Let me guess they were all simply disloyal supporters to their clubs ???

i have supported centrals my entire life and personally sponsored centrals for over a decade and I will gladly attend neutral sanfl games if centrals aren't playing because I love the sanfl. But the day afl reserves enters this league goodbye sanfl.

SANFL fans have had to adapt accept alot of compromises/kick in the guts/ playing second fiddle for over 20 years and whilst not as many in number. I believe we are all more passionate than ever before.

But this pandering and selling out of the oldest football league in Australia will certainly be the straw that broke the camels back IMHO !!!

Cdfc are in a unique situation imho to other clubs. as in if the powers that be want us to compete in a compromised league alot of our fans will simply leave Aussie rules football.

Get off your high horses port/crows fans.

It's not about you

Cdfc are in a unique situation imho as in if they want to compete in a compromised league alot of our fans will simply leave Aussie rules altogether.

even if the power and crows team didn't care about a flag and only worried about player development, doesn't mean your team or every other team won't care about a flag. Your team will still be going out each week to play to win, your team will still be known as they are and your team will still be wearing the same guernsey.

I don't know if you know but since the crows played their first game the SANFL has been dying. The only thing that is keeping the SANFL a live is the income generated through AAMI stadium.

At the end of the day if someone is prepared to walk away from SANFL footy because there is 2 sides playing that don't care about winning a flag then seriously that is pathetic. At the end of the day the only changes that is going to happen to your club is they are going to lose 3-5 payers, and some of them probably havent even played a game for that club.

So every vfa and WAFL who has moved on due to the raping off their league are absolutely pathetic also ???? More than welcome to share your theory with port magpies cheer squad next time you see them.
If the sanfl introduced 2 new clubs who wanted to win a flag and took 3 players from each club in its inception I'd gladly support the expansion of our league. But I won't support the defiling of our league.

We dont owe port/crowsanything Because we make money out of you. your entire purpose of being invented was to fund us . You need to deal with that. We are your pimp and after 15 years of whoring your club we need to cut our losses cos you've grown ugly and there is better options on live against the gate tv.

You are trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. You can abuse the round hole and label it pathetic all you want it doesn't change that you are lamely trying to justify the rape of the oldest football league in oz.

Do everyone on safooty a favour and Get a clue!!!

Kickinit, you are missing the point completely of why sanfl supporters will lose interest. Got nothing to do with the clubs but the compromising of our league to serve another's agenda.

I'm not quite sure I'm understanding why WESLO are not allowing the banner to be displayed?

Chris Davies has said publicly, and to Centurion, that he has no problem with the banner being on show, provided it wasn't taken out on to the ground or fixed to any permanent structure.

I know the Groggies took it out on the ground at Prospect the weekend before last, I just hope that hasn't forced the powers above to change their stance and advised WESLO it is not allowed, full stop.

Centurion, have you got anything to add to why it wasn't allowed to stay out for the state game?

Dont agree
As a member of Essendon for 30+ years and going to numerous reserves game I can tell you the club does not give a crap about the reserves winning. The supporters might but the club doesnt. The senior coach tells the reserves coach what position and what ammount of game time each player plays, winning is purely secondary. The ammount of Bendigo/Essendon games ive been too where players are played out of position or only play 10-15 minutes is unbelievable.

but because that's the way essendon is does it automatically mean the crows and port will be the same.

Listened to the Geelong CEO on 3AW a couple of weeks ago talking about not only how pleased they were to be 5-0 but also how proud they were as a club because their Reserves were also sitting top of the ladder at 5-0 too.

Certainly sounded like they care.

For the record, I disagree with the sign but I have a genuine problem with the inability to display it at SANFL venues.

I wonder if you would have objected to the sign BEFORE there was a Port Power. I mean, back when we only had The Crows in The AFL & if they wanted to place an AFL reserves side in the SANFL competition, would you & others have objected?

Wasn't there talk of of Norwood becoming the crows reserves. I wonder how port voted on that proposal :-)
