Pretty sure you'll find we destroyed our great game with Bassett's anti-football style.

Or something.

Yeah, the lid came off halfway through the last qtr of the 2000 GF.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

First time it went missing in our possession was the night we won it in 2000. Was found in the car that was used to do the restock runs to the pub! Apparently worn as a driving hat.

I recall my tech studies teacher in 1985 doing repairs on Tom, that wasn't our fault!

Just a thought -

Norwood breached and paid the fine
West will have to pay a fine

If port are fined, they use the SANFL's own monies that prop up the power to pay the fine. Afterall, Port are affiliated with the Power as a united AFL club that supports and SANFL club that no longer has a say or dividend from the SANFL. Maybe I am wrong, but is there some irony about a fine being administered in this case?

Maybe the penalty is for clubs that breach, their salary cap the following year is reduced by the amount they breached the cap by?

This would automatically effect player contracts and restrict recruiting by the amount they have left in a salary cap. It doesnt bankrup struggling clubs either whether the breach was deliberate, negligent or otherwise

Jai Bednall tweeted earlier that West could be forced to squeeze Ryan Willits and Ben Fisher off their list due to their Salary Cap indiscretion. Would be handy recruits at any if the other 8 clubs.

Interesting article on adelaide now re how the SANFL Clubs structure payments to fit in the Salary Cap.

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl/sanfl-clubs-paying-a-heavy-price/story-e6freckc-1226528129837

Funny how the article doesn't mention North for it's issue a few years back re wrongly classifying Damon White's payment re his player coach role. Small breach which amounted to a fine of around $4.5K but never the less still a breach.
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

"This leaves the club with $192,000 left in the SANFL's $360,000 cap to divide between its players in guaranteed base salaries. "I think it's just easier to maintain," Port chief executive Brian Leys said."

Maybe not.

Good to see 3 clubs didn't rely on luck to be under the cap, they should be commended.

I may be missing something and I know I'm no genius but wouldn't all this have been sovled if they just made the salary cap to include injury payments and increase it accordingly to fit that? No confusion, no guessing, no hoping, no predicting and can all be sorted out and safely allowed for early in the season? :?
