Well thats it then. All over with and the crows get their way just as we knew they all would. My interest in SANFL is now over as of now. I phoned my dad and told him I'm not going to the game friday night, strangely i can no longer get motivated for this year knowing that this is the last year of the competition. It just feels completly pointless. Since i have no interest in the VFL Australian rules football has just lost a fan forever. I'm glad that the people running the VFL and the SANFL feel they can afford to lose fans. We are talking about a game that is followed by 20 mil people if that and globalisation has increased accessibility and exposure to other sports making the future of aussie rules even less secure. What happened to the resistence of the SANFL clubs? I thought North Adelaide were dead against it so why have they changed their tune so suddenly? To be honest i expected a little bit more resistance before the inevitable cave in. Very dissapointed!!!!

I know of two clubs outside of Norwood voting no.

I know of one club voting yes

I hope your right and I hope my club does the right thing. The President is waivering but the Board overall stuck to their NO vote affirmation last week. It hopefully won't change once they get to see the $$$ supposedly on the table which is what has caused some of the Directors to re-assess voting no in favour of voting yes. Interestingly enough both in the SANFL Press Release and when Olsen was on 5AA this morning no actual figures (even ball park) have been tabled / suggested as to how the rivers of riches are going to save our comp?

What happens to the integrity of the competition under this scenario?
AFL Crows miss finals.
SANFL Crows/Ravens/Buzzards make finals.

Under your proposal, Buzzards can only pick players who have played more SANFL games than AFL games. But guess what? They haven't got enough who have qualified to field a side! The Crows have had a rough run with injuries and had to go through most of their list during the season. And you know Jarryd Lyons really did have to have season-ending surgery on his groin. The SANFL doctor signed off on it so it's okay.

So, the showpiece of your season, the SANFL finals, now sees the minor premier Buzzards, borrowing more players from SANFL clubs who didn't even make the finals and who have all just had their Mad Mondays, just so they can field a side.

Of course, the Buzzards get smashed in the 2nd semi by Westies by 110 points and bow out the following week against Norwood without even kicking a goal. It really was a bit embarrassing for the League.

Luckily no-one was there to watch.

It appears that the PAFC will have to accept the conditions the SANFL Commission want to impose and yes Jim, whatever "bastard" side the PAFC have as a Reserves side in the SANFL will play all their games away so no more Alberton.

I understand that if the YES vote gets up and regardless of what the PAFC want, the Commission can them impose any change on the PAFC in regards to the local comp so they can effectively force the PAFC to dismantle the current Magpie structure.

Port Adelaide has rejected this cr@ppy proposal, so by what you are writing, it WILL be the $ANFL that kills off the Magpies OTR

Only point i would make is that it's not only the Magpies that would be killed off, they are killing off the entire competition. I just can't imagine going to a game where everyone involved with the other side from the officials, players supporters etc. would think it nice to win but not really care if they don't. It's like the current SANFL Reserves. Sure the players are trying but if they don't win how many people at the club are really bothered much.

Its already well known that no AFL can be played at AO before the March deadline so guess which AFL club will come grovelling to us to borrow AAMI for the NAB Cup?

That's an interesting proposal. But, I suspect, if the SANFL has recommended this proposal be accepted they aren't going to step on toes by doing that.

ZipZap Lightening Olsen has struck again this the man who destroyed SA by selling off ETSA for which we are all paying the price and suffering now well his thuderbolt has struck again this proposal accepted by the Commish and if adopted by the clubs has the potential to destroy the whole fabric of this once great SA sporting institution.

Have emailed South and asked if they are going to give members the option to a) provide formal feedback/thoughts through a survey or meeting and b) to hear the club’s thoughts on the proposal. What’s in it for us if we vote yes? I’d be very interested in hearing somebody from the club actually answer this honestly and sell the benefits to the members.

And the bit about how the Crows won't send their players in for early surgery.

The whole proposal is the most grotesquely concocted trip down Suicide Street I've ever seen, thrown together largely by a bunch of blokes who used to give a sh1t about the competition but now can't wait for their retirement.

What an outrageous disgrace!

This is last chance saloon people. Get in the face of your club Presidents now and make your feelings known to them in no uncertain terms or share in the blame of our competition's demise.
