Unless i missed it didnt see a write up about the 2 games played at 4,40 on Saturday.
Certainly nothing in the Sunday Mail ,so i thought they mightve been in The Advertiser today but nothing .
Surely both games werent ignored unless living here down South we only get the early editions and they dont have time to put them in .

The West End State team could have as many as nine debutants when it hosts the VFL in Saturday’s AAMI State Game at the Tanunda Recreation Park.
SANFL Chairman of Selectors Tim Ginever has released a 26-player squad to face the Big V, as the Croweaters aim to replicate their victory against their arch-enemy at Stratarama Stadium last year.
With dual Glenelg premiership coach Darren Reeves now at the helm of the West End State team, the Bays have eight players named in the squad including possible debutants Cam McGree, James Bell and Jonty Scharenberg.

North Adelaide could have four players don the cherished red guernsey for the first time, including former WAFL star Angus Schumacher, two-game ruckman Alex Van Wyk, Dyson Hilder and Ewan Mackinlay.

Sturt’s rebounding defender Flynn Perez and West Adelaide ball magnet Kobe Ryan could also make their first start in the clash which will begin at 2.45pm.

Former West End State captain Jack Hayes, from the Eagles, could make a welcome return for the Croweaters while last year’s dual Fos Williams Medallist Jez McLennan is Port Adelaide’s sole representative.

The West End State squad will be trimmed to a 23-player team on Thursday with a new leadership group set to also be announced.
A main training session will be held at Prospect Oval on Wednesday night before a captain’s run, and guernsey presentation dinner, is conducted at Stratarama Stadium on Thursday.

The AAMI State Game – to be broadcast live on 7mate – will follow the North Melbourne v Gold Coast AFL match at nearby Barossa Park at Lyndoch, providing a Gather Round footy feast for the Barossa region.

Tickets for the AAMI State Game are available at the link below, adults are $15 and concession $10. Free entry for children aged under-18.

Fancy getting the fabulous Phils , Herden and BIG Phil for such an inexpensive price !

I recommend the service.

The most disappointing thing about the GR , is I dont get a fix of SANFL football this week
Should the SANFL have games during GR ?
Even if it means playing games on Wednedays or Mondays

I'm wondering if any football at any level should be played this weekend in SA? With many opportunities for kids who love AFL to see AFL teams at open trainings and clinics etc, I know these clinics and open trainings are being held on Saturdays with many leagues underway and playing Saturday, it's a lost opportunity perhaps.

Do many cricket comps play when test match is on in Adelaide? I liken it to that really.

Yeah pretty much all country comps north of the northern suburbs pause for gather round. Great weekend for country kids to get down to Adelaide and see a full weekend of footy.

Playing = SFL, GSFL, KNTFL, RMFL, Hills Div 1
Not Playing = AdFL (all Divs), BL&GFA, APFL, NEFL, YPFL, RFL, Hills Div 2, MVFNL, WFL, SGFL, NAFA

Not sure what the leagues on the Eyre Peninsula do this weekend but seems the majority closer to Adelaide are not playing, and like whufc said, a bit of a clear north/south divide.

Just flicked the telly on and cracked a cold one. The game does not look to be well attended. Wonder how many might have turned up to a suburban ground?

They're mainly on the camera side in the shade. There are probably 1,000 here and a few more in the club. But yes would've got more at a suburban ground I think.

Embarrassing, no brainer to have it at an SANFL ground.

Pretty good first quarter. Victoria moved the ball a bit better, and obviously we missed most of our shots.

Not sure it would draw much of a crowd at a suburban ground either with the AFL options on offer today..

4207.

Reasonable first half with forward efficiency the only salient difference.

Stepped out at half time; got back 5 mins into the third, to find I'd missed 3 croweater goals.

(edit) and predictably, while i am watching the Vics hit back and lead at 3/4 time. I'm going out again...
