RB wrote:A Clean record shouldnt be a factor when you've only played a handful of games. Far too generous discount.
saintal wrote:How does 5 get scaled down to 2 anyway? I just saw it for the first time and it wasn't good. That's a reduction of 250% for not smacking anyone during FIVE games. Surely the judge wasn't lenient on him because he was Irish. (That would be a first.)
From the SANFL site...
http://www.sanfl.com.au/news/sanfl_news/2543/Remember, with the points system, every 100 points equates to 1 week suspension...
So, Flynn fell 25 points short of missing 3 weeks, instead...
Port Adelaide defender Daniel Flynn has accepted a two-match ban for making forceful front-on contact with Eagles midfielder Chris Kane at Alberton on Sunday.
Flynn was deemed to make high, intentional contact and that the impact of the collision – which ensured Kane played no further part in the game due to concussion – was high.
Conduct - Intentional
Impact - High
Contact - High
Level 5 Forceful Front on Contact - 550 Points
Additions/Deductions
25% Deduction good Record
25% Deduction Guilty Plea
Total Points = 275
After accepting his two-match ban, Flynn will have 75 Points carried over.
That 25% and another 25% is obviously treated as 50%...as if you took 25% off 550 gives 412.5, then 25% off that lands on 309.375...
...but then again I'm an Eagles fan and I can't talk because of Grocke and previously Parry - Flynn isn't as bad...and it's only splitting hairs between 2 and 3, yada, yada, y'know
