Penalty to Morris is absurd and surely a joke

Why didnt he receive any reductions ?
-eg. Early plea, good previous record, low impact and no injury coming from it etc etc

He pleaded not guilty, hence no deduction there, and if I remember correctly, he may have been suspended a few years back. So not eligible for a deduction for a good record.

I'm not sure why people are whinging about the Morris decision when 1-3 weeks has been the constant suspension for this sort of incident over the last 4 years. I'm not sure how long ago Sporn got done for the same incident years ago but he got 2 weeks ago.
Do I agree with the report of Morris and about a dozen players over the last 4 or so years? No!
Do I think Morris's suspension of 3 weeks then 1 is consistent with similar reports in the last 4 or so years? Yes!
If anything 3 was more consistent as one player got 2 weeks for having a player run into his legs.

I know people are parochial but FFS don't whinge for the first time when the 10th player gets done for it and the tribunal and umpires show some consistency, whinge when it first happens.

Personally I'm sick of how in the SANFL how if someone runs into you with their head down with all the momentum that they will get the free and you have a good chance of being suspended.

Sorry, I was unaware I only had one chance to complain about Morris's suspension and that it was several years ago when Sporn was reported in an incident that I didn't see.
As for consistency, how often has a SANFL player been suspended for 3 weeks in the last four years?

A few reports to come out of the weekend's action, including one player being reported twice from the same game.

the SANFL site wrote:ROUND 13 REPORTS:

Michael Handby (North) - Striking

Michael Handby (North) - Striking

Clint Alleway (North) - Charging

Craig Parry (Eagles) - Misconduct (Head Butting)

Tim McIntyre (Sturt) - Forceful Front on Contact

Another busy night at the tribunal tomorrow evening.

A few on SAFooty thought Salter may have to answer for an incident during the game. I didnt see what happened but obviously he has no case to answer.

I watched a replay of this game yesterday, I didn't see anything specific that he should have been reported for.

There was an incident where South had kicked a goal and the ball was heading back to the middle to be bounced and Salter had a free kick paid against him, awarded to the Panther player at CHF, for "punching him in the back" according to the audio from umpire Corey Bowen.

Not sure if that is the 'incident' they are thinking of?

So Handby gets reported twice in the one game and gets to play the whole game because he's reported on review.Eagleton is reported twice during a game and is sent off, subsequently has 1 charge thrown out. Anybody else see a huge discrepancy here?

BP- did the scuffle in the port west game get a mention at all by the umps? would have been 100m off the play in front of the mound bar in the 2nd qtr, lasted nearly 30 seconds and got broken up by a female trainer

Not sure mate, I didn't see that one personally but I think Andrew Hayes on Special Comments for LifeFM noticed it. Was Matty Lokan involved?
