I simply note that Stuart Totham is quoted on this publicly available article which is still active and linked below, saying in late 2008, less than 2 years ago, regarding the sturt cheer squad

“I think it’s disgraceful, not acceptable and frankly I’ve had a gutful of the behaviour of some members of the cheer squad".

That is all

At two year old incident that was dealt with two years ago to everyone's satisfaction. Nice one guv.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Half the pages imply that if the incident involved Centrals there would be 50 pages of discussion - is that what the flare reference relates to?

the fine was $500 and a 1 game suspension. my opion is that is very soft from the eagles, they could have made a stand and suspended him for the rest of the year, no league player should fight with supporters.

I imagine they told him that but took into account the circumstances surrounding the whole matter.

Interesting if the Eagles announced it given
a) I thought there was a league investigation taking place, (not a club investigation)
b) Has any penalty been levelled to any double blues party?

$500 is a decent fine at SANFL level on top of loss of match payments for the week as well.

Think you'll find $500 is the most a Club can fine a player.

maybe each sturt cheersquad member involved should be fined and banned for a game. Or better still perhaps they should all chip in and pay Treebs fine for him.

I wouldn't suggest that paying the whole fine for him would be appropriate but I'm happy to rattle the can to chip in as a goodwill gesture to ackknowledge our part in the problems that occured.
This would be dependant on the punishment us as a cheersquad recieves though.
I'll keep you informed but if we can get passed this by keeping the parties involved at my end (including myself) away from the game this weekend and chip in a small share of Treeby's fine then that would be a fair outcome for all. So long as the Eagles fans involved are prepared to do the same.
