What a heart starter and heart breaker! I was totally shattered after that loss.
It really seemed as though we would win this time, but just not to be.
After the Dogs put through the last goal of the game I could really feel the real sting of loss. I wanted to yell that this is last year's bloody script and I didn't like it then and I sure hate it a lot worse now!
Kudos to the last two goal kickers of the game, Gowans and Giles. Very cool under enormous pressure. I can only respect such a characteristic whether in a Sturt player or an opponent. If there is any consolation to the loss, it was that we went down to a side which was able to lift a cog or two when the irons were red hot.
Who knows, perhaps from here we can emulate the heroes of 1976 and become the second side yet remain the only club to win the Grand Final after dropping the Qualifying.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Pity, your mum told you to change teams because Sturt were successful as it's easy to be a front runner. Supporting in adversity is what builds character. Growing up in the Western suburbs I had to put up with front running Port supporters all through school (being the only doggies supporter) during the "lean times". Most had never been to a game.

Dude... you're talking to someone who supported a team through 8 spoons... I know adversity! :-)

Ahh don't worry buddy, I'm just razzing that idiot UK Fan. He's always coming out with diatribe on here rather than good banter, there's just too much venom in his comments, so one has to poke fun at him from time to time.

Trust me, I was really disappointed in 1995 and 1996 when you guys lost against Port. I felt you deserved those flags, so no one was more pleased than me in 2000 when you cracked it.

So like I said to whufc tonight, there's love there... there really is deep down!

Good to see I had no effect on you CS.

What is Sturts final record since 2002. ????

What is it wins 2 from about 10 finals or something like that.

GO EAGLES send the chokers packing!!!!!

There is no question Sturt's record in finals over the past seven years is not good.

Being a dyed in the wool Central supporter UK, you would know what it's like to have a poor record in finals. Central District's performance between 1964-2000 wasn't poor, it was deplorable.

Time to grow up mate.

TIme to let before 2000 go me thinks PMT. It just makes you sound sad. About as relevant today as sturts 8 woooden spoons in a row.

Is it really 2 finals wins out of 10 since 2002. Even the crows dont choke that badly.

Cant deny CFDCs record was poor. Same as you cant deny we are currently the powerhouse of this competition. Dont forget to take notes lads. Youll be telling your kids about how you got to witness this dynasty. ;)

I've no need to get in a petty little arguement with you, it's possibly one I won't win as it's clear you are just a troll.

Suffice to say, you brought up our recent finals record, I came back at you with yours. Everything that has happened, our 2 out of 10 finals record, your 7 premierships....it's ALL in the past mate.

More than welcome to have a crack at our recent record. Just dont know why youd bring up before 2000.

Whilst I agree those premierships are in the past. You cant deny the fact we are still the reigning premiers MST my old friend.

A different issue coming out of the game, why was the members bar (the one with the windows overlooking the oval) closed last Sunday? Very disappointing, cost them a few bucks in beer sales I imagine.

He...or she...bought up pre 2000 because it is just as meaningless as everything else, premierships won, spoondays won (of which We only have won 2, incidentally), it all means diddlysquat now. I think that UKFan is a troll as well, I just wish I knew who it was. Giving the majority of Us Central supporters a bad name, you are.
