Issue is that these journalists get paid by the AFL industry not the SANFL industry, they are 100% AFL focussed and what is best for it not whats best for the SANFL. If they want to climb the journalistic ladder they can only do it by supporting the AFL. Look at many SANFL stars that are now in the AFL media.

There is all this talk about the SANFL not having growth, why does it need growth? I dont get it.

Not online either since the only way you can read about the SANFL is by going to AFL > Local Footy. What an insult

Yeah but the Advertiser pays their salary and the Messenger only have to claim a nominal amount per article under their salary cap.

From memory, Jai Bednall was told he had to drop the article as he went in on Sunday's to get it done and due to budget cuts, the article had to be given the chop...

It's a shame, as I really enjoyed it, along with many others no doubt, but if Jai wasn't going to be paid for the time and effort put in with it, I don't blame him for not still doing it...

It was actually relaunced as Monday Morning Centreman (AFL) a few weeks back.

Pity that, such reviews are plentiful at AFL level but in short supply in the SANFL.

Was the best reading of the week.

SANFL Fans thought so as well. Jai was the runnaway winner as best writer in our FOOT-e TIMES SA Fans Favourite SANFL Media Poll last year.

Quite enjoying it, Im starting to like Rucci!

aron, as a devoted Port person ask this. If Ken Hinkley wants Mason Shaw in the side and wants him to play a set position would the Power reserves coach
(a) move him to win a game
(b) keep him to do as the Power AFL plan needs
(c) keep his job if he didn't do as Ken Hinkley wanted

Comment From Dutchy -
Lets say one of the AFL reserves teams make the SANFL GF in early October, that means up to 17 players might be committed to playing in the game, they then get a mandatory 8 weeks off, are the AFL clubs really going to let these development players come back in early December for pre-season if their main team finished in early Sept?

Michelangelo Rucci:
Very good point!

We need to make a place available on the Commission for Dion Hayman after reading his article. The best on this topic yet.
