Spot on UK Fan the doubles blues originated from none other than Oxford and Cambridge Universities in the good old UK.

So every time a Centrals supporter waves a Union Jack they are flying an emblem that has pride of place on the Australian Flag.

And every time a Sturt supporter waves a double blues flag they are flying the colours of two of the pillars of the British establishment. How un-Australian! :D

BTW I had to go onto the Sturt website to confirm this information. Yuk I feel so unclean. :vom:

How about in 7 years the next time you make a Grand Final. Any chance you could actually make a grand final sized banner. It was dwarfed by the CDFC banner. I have seen bigger banners at the local primary schools sports day. Do you have to ration sticky tape in unley or something ????

Firstly, both banners were exactly the same size as per AAMI Stadium regulations so that shows what a fool you are. And yes, alot of the money for the banners did come out of our supporters pocket as they have all year as due to the financial situation of our club, that is the way I wanted it. You can sprout your never ending pokie money around if you like coz geez, that's something to be proud of for your area

Secondly, O/S University colours, indeed this is where our colours originate from, because our oval in SOUTH AUSTRALIA is adjacent to two streets bearing the same name. Any double blue Union Jacks in the Sturt Cheer Squad due to this link? No, but there is a Southern Cross. Maybe, going by your assumptions, we can't afford one.
I know Italian migrants who grew up in Elizabeth, I know German migrants who grew up in Elizabeth of which my family are one, so while the name Elizabeth does come from Royal heritage, the area doesn't only have links with the English and therefore it isn't the only link your club has either.

I know Booney and with their record, they can please themselves.
Anyway, when it all comes down to it, there is one thing I did agree with UK Fan about and that was that we were outplayed and outclassed on the day. While I thought we were never really out of the game, I didn't think we were in it either. I know that doesn't make sense but I understand what I mean ;)

BBWWAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if your cheer squad paid for that banner. Next year save your money.
I did like your lame excuse as to why it was so small though Voice. Damn that pokie money.
You can take the boy out of Elizabeth. But youll never take the Elizabeth out the boy.
