Kickinit.... I think you'll find I posted 'F**k' the Power and not Lynwood as you mentioned.

Why do we continually have to just stand there and take it up the ar$s from big brother?
You don't have to accept or even agree with your footy club or employer or even wife(dangerours I know) if you don't agree with their opinion or even stance in this case.

Just because I don't agree with the direction the 'one club' Port is going doesn't make me any less of a Magpies supporter either.

The freedom to support another AFL club is yours AF. Just so long as you (and Lynwood, etc) remember, that without "Big Brother" and ONE CLUB, the Magpies would have folded 3 years ago. That is an indisputable fact!

Not an indisputable fact.
Sturt was in bigger strife in the mid 90's. Still here.
Magpies also had their hotel they could have sold.
And from what I understand of it, the Power were an exceptionally difficult co-tenant, ironically the Magpies might have found it easier to survive had they shared training facilities with the Crows.
There you have it: wouldn't have folded and their biggest threat was from the Power anyway.

These afl clowns recon they will get 4000 per game, so when the crows are playing in Melbourne on a Saturday and the crows reserves are playing norwood at the same time 4000 crows fans are going to head to norwood oval watch their reserves play and not stay @ home to watch their team(get their asses kicked) play on TV yeah right. Mind you what ever day port will be playing their reserves will be rostered to play the other day like it is now.

kickinit wrote:anyone can follow who ever they like. But dont say your a loyal and true PAFC supporter and then go on and have a crack at the club.

I think you are confusing the unconditional support you should give to the players on the paddock versus the constructive criticism that the administration should welcome.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the Eagles are leaning towards supporting the AFL teams entering the SANFL comp. Does it make me a disloyal supporter if I don't just blindly back their decision?

Surely a person has the right to disagree with their club's current position and be free to lobby them to rethink without being labelled disloyal by other fans?

So Port had a preferred model that we wanted/wished to work to.

This model was firstly put to all league directors at a meeting and then (I believe) individually with it being made very clear that this model would not be accepted by the SANFL league directors. No issues there, I knew it never would be but as always you start negotiations high.

The compromise, put to the Port Adelaide Football Club, would spell the end of the Magpies as we know it. I dont want that for one minute and it is pleasing to know neither does David Koch or Keith Thomas. To be honest I dont think the SANFL league directors would want that either.

So things remain the same, for Port, anyway.

It is then up to Adelaide to convince the SANFL league directors to accept them into the SANFL.

Yep. And they are doing an incredibly bad job at it from what I'm hearing.

I'd like to believe them when they say they don't want to see the end of the Magpies. That would at least indicate some sort of football "soul". Maybe the existence of such a thing at the Power will help them to understand the threat we feel to our competition. Until now there seemed to be no problem disregarding the credibility of the SANFL as long as the Magpie survived in it. Perhaps the threatened extinction of the Magpies can become a touchstone, an indicator of the common ground we share regarding losing our footballing heritage.
Then again, if it's yet another gambit, stay tuned for the next dirty trick. I've learned my lesson.
