This is very true. There is damage that is being done even just with all this talk. Besides Joe Tripodi, no one within the SANFL is giving any impression of positivity or strength. Triple M and 5AA have completely jumped on the AFL Reserves bandwagon. Listening to Tredrea, Ricciuto, Dittmar, KG and Jars last night was disgusting.

I look forward to Centurion, LEH & UKFan and his beard getting some coverage in The Advertiser.

Keep hassling them AB. I actually had some success this morning (sorta). Rucci read out some of my email, however paraphrased what I was trying to ask Bone and missed the main point I was trying to make.

(Was trying to take Bone to task with his view on how the Ravens would benefits the SANFL clubs)

Says it all about this debate.

Exactly. Everyone's picking on Port clearly out of spite, like there's no other reason for opposing their proposal.
Even Kochie has the "poor Port" sickness, I wish you'd all harden up and look at the real issue. Half of this thread is motivated by this victim theory. If I'd heard about it rather than read it with my own eyes I wouldn't believe a group of people could be collectively so stupid. If word got out that you're all a bunch of trolls just trying to earn Port a squeamish reputation I wouldn't be too surprised.
Oh well, poor Port, everyone's picking on you yadda, yadda, yadda.

Listening to Tredrea in particular as well as Dittmar leaves me dry reaching...Ricciuto not much better.
These former AFL commentators have forgotten where they got their start and path into AFL...and Port people are just that, Port people. Water can't wash that off you.

I still think there are more true magpie supporters than Johnny come lately power supporters! ;)

i think you will find there is more true loyal port adelaide football club supporters. your a so true and loyal port supporter but you support carlton over the power, give me a break.

What part of I support the Port Adelaide Magpies and don't give a sh#t about the Power don't you understand?
And I would never put Carlton ahead of the Magpies........never ever!!
Seems like most Port supporters on here are putting the Power before the 'real' PORT!!

Am in the same boat would never put my AFL club before the Magpies but if you take what KT released 3500 of the Magpies members are only members of the magpies and not the Power. I think there are more people like us who Follow The Magpies and not the Power then many think. At least at the games anyway.

What is this whole concern over who follows who in the AFL. People should be able to come to Magpie games and support them no matter who they support in the AFL. I know many who have had an AFL side and come to Magpie Games but continually got questioned on why they do not follow the Power that they either don't come to games or only come occasionally. Who really cares I stand with People who follow The Magpies and we all have Different AFL teams (some even support the crows) and everyone is just happy to watch a great comp.

And on who are true Port Supporters the Magpies have just over PAFC have 40000 members, 5000 are Magpie Members and only 1500 are members of both. SO there are only 1500 true supporters who are members of both.

Kickinit.....you seem to be a passionate Port supporter which is great.
Serious question though.......who would you prefer to see win a premiership this year......Maggies or Power?
I'd be interested to hear other PAFC supporters thoughts as well.........and don't just say both.

I guess if the Power weren't trying to **** the Magpies he'd have reason to say it now would he?
Like many others on here, myself included, couldn't give a shit what the Power do, until you start screwing around with what we love.
The standard reply though is usually crap like "oh you're being spiteful" or "you're not a true Port supporter" or the classic "you're just picking on us because we are Port!"
If you were able to move on from this victim's point of view, we might have a meaningful debate.

Listening to mmm today on the way to work today hearing tredrea dribble on about the SANFL clubs having a vendetta against port, he went on to say how they were having protest march about the magpies not being in the SANFL. He also kept saying us passionate port supporters and having port people ring up and express their view, i'd like to know how many of these callers were real magpie supporters and not power supporters who gave up on them in 97. I would be pretty confident that most of the children of these power supports have never even seen the magpies play. As a Norwood supporter i do not want the magpies gone from the SANFL as they are our biggest rival but i do not want afl reserves sides in our competition port or crows. Most of us true SANFL supporters follow this competition because we don't want to watch overpriced vfl rules footy.

Crows will get a reserves side next year because " it would be worse for you guys (tv, paper, sponsors) if we went some where else". Port will get one cos Crows do. The real argument will be over conditions of entry such as top up players etc. Crows claim an extra 4000 per game - will they underwrite this figure financially or just use it as speculative propaganda? Crows claim to do clubs a favour by only playing away games, they should be forced to play home games so they get a proper sense of this competition. Pay to fence Max Basheer each game like Sturt at Unley, hire an oval and make a loss on a crowd of 1600 cos of forecast thunderstorms, cop a home game that clashes with a Crows AFL TV game. Don't claim to do us a favour by joining the comp or by not hosting games, for 10+ years you have taken & taken & taken advantages from your players involvement in this historical competition and then given nothing when SANFL clubs need something from your players. Don't pretend you are about to be the first leopard in history to change your spots. SANFL clubs should hold firm, call their bluff and tell AFL sides to rack off.

Kickinit can answer for himself but I fail to see why any true Port Adelaide supporter should be made to make that choice. That said, in 2013, I think I'd lead towards the Magpies, because the SANFL side of our club has endured a longer Premiership drought.

Reckon I'd also get a lot of satisfaction listening to all the losers bleating on about how we only won because we're One Club.

Next year I want both!

You won't win this year.

The biggest contributing factor to your improvement is a closer coaching relationship with your AFL arm and some dodgy recruiting of Power listed SANFL players to improve your list. If you'd played by the actual rules you'd finish bottom and be faced with a recruiting ban. That is without considering the stories told to recruits like Slattery about the AFL link.
