Monday well the sun came up which always happens. Seriously I thought Collins would have dumped that game plan after losing the second semi final and well I guess I was wrong. I am proud of the club and team for being at a grand final. I am not happy with what was served up. At half time I felt we were still in it but we needed to kick goals. After Jericho kicked those two I was done I was not going to watch that display.

Congratulations to Norwood the best team all year and they showed why they were the best team. They played great football in second half of the game and showed why they were the best side of the year. West never quit but only when we started playing attacking football Norwood had it won. Seriously that game plan only works in College Football in the SEC conference because that is when you need a defense like that.

Waiting to see who West's coach will be next year but as I said elsewhere if Collins is the coach and we make the Grand Final I don't want to see that game plan again. I will be West Adelaide til I die it is like being a Geelong supporter but I hope I don't have to watch another grand final loss til we win our next flag. We have the players there now build some depth and bring on 2013.

Our group spent most of the last half in the Members Stand discussing which team was the worst team to play a GF in the past 40 years and narrowed it down to South'79 and Westies 2012 - we gave the nod to todays West team - simply the worst team to ever play in the big one - they simply had no idea. South in 79 had no luck with the weather and North in 89 despite kicking 1 goal at least kicked the ball forwards !

didn't you attend the 2004 Grand Final?

Apparently he tore shreds off them at half time

why did he tear shreds off the band? they weren't THAT bad!

We had a bloody chance we were still in it at half time. I agree with Centurion. coming out late no time to warm up and Norwood taking advantage of it like top sides do is a big reason why we lost. Norwood were ready in the second half we were not. Plain and simple.

Worst GF by that far it doesn't matter, and I've been to most at Footy park ( missed 2!).
So funny how the crowd was looking all the same colour wise, and just how numb the atmosphere was in the first quarter.
Had to leave this debacle before the fights, which was really disappointing, but listening to AA on the way home made up for it..... their bias is comedy at it's best ( real pro's  )

West players seem to get no joy out of playing, such a stoney face bunch every time I've seen them.
No way Collo gets away with this unless he has photo's of the Board committing un-natural acts

I think that tells us less about Westies and more about how far Norwood were ahead of the competition this season.

Yep I was there in 2004 - Eagles were terrible but they were up against a CD team at their peak - but Eagles that day still kicked forwards and tried things where West in 2012 seemed to be chasing a nil all draw and hoped to win the flag on penalty kicks !

Agreed ! As a neutral supporter there today I wondered why the hell did not West go the biff and stir up Norwood earlier.

2nd best part of day was the band . I enjoyed them.

The day never reached any great heights .

Well done Norwood .

Have to agree with all of that exept the best part of the day for me was the free flowing, great skills, high scoring (12 goals in 10 mins) mini's game in front of the stage at half time

Well done Norwood the best team all year by a country mile.

Well done Norwood. Clearly the best team of the year. Even though the game never reached any great heights or any heights for that matter, I’m sure all the Norwood supporters enjoyed it. It’s nice to know you have the Grand Final won early, so you can relax. As a supporter close games in finals are only enjoyable on replay!

Really enjoyed listening to some Norwood supporters wishing they were playing Centrals. Finally we’re a team that people respect and want to beat. Never thought I’d be saying that 15 years ago!

I did not enjoy waking up this morning without a hangover because it means we weren’t in the Grand Final.

Norwood had a fantastic year, people forget they lost two games all year. One by a point to North (and they may have been a little unlucky yo lose that) and against West by about 4 goals when a victory to them wasnt a big priority

Haven't read all this thread yet, but just want to say how sorry I feel for the West supporters.
You go to the game with so much expectation, then your coach plays that style of footy, and you just don't have anything at all to get excited about or get involved in the game.

No need to feel sorry FH, I think most didnt expect to make the Grand Final. Got beaten but I doubt any team would have beaten Norwood yesterday

One big difference. West had very close to a full list to choose from.
Eagles that day from memory were missing Hall, Frewen, Potter, Powell, Passador, Inkster, Williams (will stand corrected if I'm wrong or if Williams or Powell played in the 2's GF).

Yeah, but there was nothing to get excited about, to get into the game, to feel the momentum. Sure, the Eagles have had some bad days in the GF's, but in 00, 01 and 05 it was within a goal at half time.

West were missing from their best 22 FH

Tippet, Still, Webb, Laird and Beech (reckon there is someone I have missed)

No worries Brodlach, my mistake, esp re Tippett, Webb and Beech.
Didn't think Still had played much league during the year. Was Laird injured or dropped?

Still was injured alot of the year, play one game in the reserves and get a different injury. He would have been in the best 22 especially with Webb out.

Laird was out injured.
