Because its laughable...
7 Feb 2012 - Chairman confirms everything was "fine" at the club and CEO had his full support
16 Feb 2012 - CEO is stood down
17 Feb 2012 - CEO is sacked

You just missed the BIG clue it's all there for everyone to see!!!!

Ask Rodger the Dodger, he knows more about Norwood than anyone apparently.

What would you have said in response to journalistic questions, if you were the President and you were going through a reflective process that is governed by employment law? The wrong public answer might have constituted constructive dismissal.

As I said before, it isn't a great situation but what's more "laughable" - recognising you may have made a mistake and going through a process to confirm or rebut that; or, living with the issue for a 3 year contract?

What about "Bill is getting on with the job"? (like Julia is!).

Amazing how if you offer a response, you are crucified. If you offer no comment, speculation compounds. Saying "no comment" would never have been accepted by the journos or all of those who wish to intimately observe the matter from afar.

This kind of language just isn't called for on a football forum. :D

So you say he has my full support and look like an idiot 10 days later?

How about "We're about to bone the bloke but just getting some final legal advice"

Is that what you want?

Ill confess I have no idea. You ??? BLUFF CALLED AND ILL RAISE YOU.

Why was Bill Leane after an extensive search appointed the CEO of Norwood Football Club for 3 years. Then sacked approx 6 weeks later ???? We all await your response.

If you already know who the next CEO is and how much Bill got paid out I'm fairly sure you don't need me to answer that question. Maybe we ran a rubbish process? It's hard to believe of Norwood's board I know...

Now one for you, why did Rawlings leave a job he loved so much just before the season started? Given his, ahem, chequered employment history I would have thought it would have been in his interest to see out a contract?

Re: Is Norwood Imploding?

Postby SDK » Mon Feb 20, 2012 6:00 pm

The Norwood Football Club has today appointed Mr. Geoff Baynes as their interim Chief Executive Officer for the next three months.

This arises from the vacancy that now exists following the Norwood Football Club and its previous CEO, Bill Leane, mutually agreeing to part company.

Mr. Baynes has had extensive experience in the SANFL having amassed over two hundred games as a player and having been involved in Club administration as a Club Director and as the first full time Football Manager for the South Adelaide Football Club.

Mr. Baynes has recently completed a term as an Executive Director in the Attorney-General’s Department and was previously the Chief of Staff to the Minister for Recreation and Sport in the State Government.

Mr Baynes will take up the role immediately to ensure that the Norwood Football Club is able to thoroughly prepare for the up-coming 2012 season.

Baynes would nearly hold the record for being employed ny the most SANFL clubs, whether that be as player, or Runner (where he was at Port and perhaps one or 2 other clubs), or admin, or whatever.
