Everyone else plays the minor round and finals , to then play WWTFC and CDFC in two semi finals and ultimately the cup final.
Make Prize money 80k 1st, 40 K 2nd every other position 20K.
All expenses payed by foxtel.
I challenge someone to come up with a dumber suggestion.
I sir am willing to wager that such a thing is not possible.
Port Melbourne and Williamstown are also interested in the outcome.

Well if they want the best to play then they should duly recognise the awesomeness of these two clubs and not subject them to playing the likes of the Labrador's of this world

I agree that something has to be done with the format to avoid the first round farce. Perhaps something like the following can be done:
1. Top two teams of each minor competition (TAS, ACT, NSW, QLD) play each other early during their season to decide their representative (ie. a normal minor round game is designated also as a 'Foxtel Cup Qualifier Game').
2. These four teams play with the two winners qualifying for the main competition.
3. Main competition consists of 8 teams (top 2 from VIC, SA and WA, and 2 teams qualified from previous games).
What this means is:
- the teams from each of the minor competitions potentially playing up to 4 games in the Foxtel Cup
- teams from VIC, SA and WA will only play up to 3
The reduced number of games for VIC, SA and WA teams may make it more attractive for these teams to participate if they are still guaranteed at least one weekend off during the year (assuming 3 byes per year plus one split round as per last season).
With only 6 teams from the major competitions and 4 from the minor competitions, this can then allow same prize money to be distributed across less teams, making it more attractive for teams to participate.
