Former Demon player Adam Yze has been linked to South Adelaide on the VFL forum...

Would be a very good player at SANFL level, was very good for Box Hill in the VFL in 09...

Yze has signed with Shepparton Swans in the Goulburn Valley League as Assistant Coach. Both his brothers play there and his cousin is the coach, so unlikely he'll be playing with the Panthers...

Yep with some help from SANFL reserve umpires he kicked about 10 one night at Norwood against Norwood and clearly didn't mark all the marks awarded to him .I was sitting in the G?S and watched him.
Rather embarrassing to watch as the umpire or umpires buried Norwood to help an AFL player.

I have a problem with his age but that's just me . ;)

I would think are not too bad. Admittedly, recently recruits like Toia, Biaggi, Schwarz (although he played a few good games) and Cheep have been a disaster.

What a load of rubbish Footy Talk. Every year all SANFL clubs have lesser players from other clubs that come for a try out, most clubs don't chase these types of players but give them the courtesy of a try out. If any of these types manage to last the distance I know for a fact they only end up getting normal match payments. I'm talking about targetted recruits not the riffraff you have mentioned.

If you were Scott Welsh, where would you go? Criteria would have to include a club on the rise, somewhere you had a relationship, club that needs a forward and with some ca$h to spend.

Back home to the Bloods seems a no-brainer but a bit of a link at Glenelg too if I hear correctly?? Any recent news on his movements?

Read over on the VFL forum that delisted Kangaroos player Daniel Harris is weighing up playing for North Ballarat in the VFL or the Glenelg Tigers over here in the SANFL.

Dutchy would be happy with that :D

Also read on the VFL forum that former Sydney Swans rookie Earl Shaw is training with Port Melbourne but still deciding whether he will play in the VFL or look to come back to the SANFL where he played with the Doggies in 2008. Played a handful of leageu games and is a talented big man, just has questionable disposal by foot.

SANFL clubs fight

Former Melbourne on-baller Shane Valenti is considering a stint in the SANFL after being targeted by four clubs. Delisted by the Demons after six games this season, Valenti last week spoke to Sturt, Glenelg, South Adelaide and West Adelaide in a two-day trip to Adelaide.

It is believed Valenti won't make a decision on his future until after the draft when he hopes to get another opportunity in the AFL system. He is expected to do pre-season training with a Melbourne-based AFL club in a bid to impress and be picked up in the draft.

Valenti played nine games last year and started this season as a rookie-listed player before being promoted to the main list.

With a reputation as a ball magnet, the hard-at-it rover would be an outstanding acquisition for a SANFL side.

But the four SANFL clubs are facing competition for Valenti's services from VFL clubs, including Port Melbourne, who have the finances to offer him an attractive deal. He is also likely to speak to clubs in the WA state league.

Norwood had shown interest in Valenti but it is believed the Redlegs did not speak with him while he was in Adelaide. The Redlegs are not allowed to recruit outside their zone until March after breaching the $350,000 salary cap last season. They were hit with a 12-month ban as well as a $50,000 fine.

But the recruiting penalty ends on the eve of the new season, allowing players to be signed before the opening round.

The SANFL will close the loophole which has enabled the Legs to recruit for the 2010 season.

"There is a loophole in the rules but we are going to fix that," SANFL state league manager Darren Chandler said. "When the penalty was placed, Norwood was penalised for 12 months.

"The wording will be changed to say no recruiting before the following season."

Daniel Harris was originally from the Rushworth Football Club which is over near Kyabram and Shepparton in Victoria.

Brian Harris at the Western Bulldogs is from Woodville West Torrens originally, maybe getting the 2 confused mate ?

The 'loophole' was put there by you lot, you idiot. You lot worded the penalty. 'Loophole' suggests it was some pre-existing rule laid down decades ago. Where's the admission that you guys stuffed this up?
And because the SANFL admit it's something that needs correcting, why don't they actually enforce the penalty for the 2011 season, so that some penalty is actually imposed rather than throwing their hands up in the air and saying oh well, there was a loophole. FFS.
