I am led to believe (on very good advice) that Andy doesn't want a bar of him at City Mazda. They have released him to play for another club.

Yes, the Eagles had an agreement with Valenti but he got drafted and we missed out. From what I have seen he will go very well in the SANFL.
Eagles hierarchy previously commented that when lads like Valenti have been in the system for a few years their payment expectations are
too high to fit within the salary cap. We have wasted money previously on highly rated high priced duds like Schwarze & Toia (wont name others we all know) so I will be surprised to see us pursue the types like Valenti - although his type would be a perfect fit.

Torney not likely to go to the Eagles because of this reason. He and Davies are good friends from school down this way.

Torney has been spoken to by the Eagles as has Shirley and Skipworth and that will be the extent of the Eags recruiting. I hope that what you've said re the CEO isn't true.

Still need a ruckman

Mmmmmm dont be shocked if Skipworth wears red and white in SA if he returns, word is he is having talks

Neely it seems is a race in 2. Glenelg v Sturt. He's as fit as a bull... looking great and ready to return. It'd be suprising to see him at the Bay considering Mickan "let him go"... but maybe time away has helped that.

An out for the dogs 'could' be Eddie Sansbury.
I have heard from a good source he has been spoken to by Hawthorn and may be in line to get picked up in the draft! ;)

I am led to believe with a great source, that Chris Chubb is playing for the eagles this year. He could solve their full back position. Very keen on playing league footy underhis good mate MIcky G.

Been away for 4 years but he will at Eagles pre-season next week.

Also, a big possibility of playing for the Eagles, is also Benny Grieger. Two key defenders. big recruits for the eagles since there supporters on here have been crying out for a replacement for Hier

chris chubb was one of my non-sturt favourite players. always dependable down back and gave 110% each game. one player i would have at sturt in his prime any day.

Grieger was always good at stopping his opponent but lacked the ability to run off his man and had poor foot skills.

Chubby will be interesting, he retired at about 23 with a bad knee or knees IIRC and had played about 80 league games. If he can get his body right he just might be a good pick up but 4 years away from the level will be difficult to make up.

Hope both boys go well.

From the Eagles member email

It is with regret that the Woodville West Torrens Football Club announces the retirement of Ken McGregor after 83 League games with the Club.

In recent weeks Ken has made the Club aware that with growing work commitments and concerns over his body’s ability to continue to play at SANFL level, he has come to this decision.

The Club has worked tirelessly during this period to try and allay Ken’s concerns to no avail.

On the decision, McGregor said “I just felt it was time to move on and give some of the younger guys a go. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to finish my playing career at the Eagles as I love the Club and they will always be my Club. They are in good hands with Coach Michael Godden and have an exciting future which I will enjoy watching.”

Eagles Chairman, Kurt Slaven said that “Ken has been a magnificent servant of the Eagles since his debut in 1996. He has been admired by everyone at the Club in relation to the way he prepared himself and those around him for every match.”

The Club wishes Ken all the best for the future and hopes to retain him in some capacity moving forward.

Thanks

Chubby was a star. I would love to see him play again but for his sake hope he doesnt. Much better to be able to walk (even with a limp) than not at all.
