I'm hearing they want Martin Leslie to coach but at $20k   he'd get that coaching his sons football team in Lincoln.

Bloody Hell, I knew of a country club in Victoria willing to pay $25 000 for a playing coach with an appropriate playing record (i.e. state league minimum) and it wasn't in one of the big leagues either (Ovens and Murray, Goulbourn Valley or Ballarat)
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Marty Leslie son's aren't even here in Lincoln anymore. Coaches get between $5k - $10k over here.

Asked him last week if he had been interviewed for the job and he has, but not interested.

In his words the club is in a much worse position than he hoped and new off.

How long did he give the club?

They will go even further backwards (if thats possible) if that happenes. The club needs to start looking outside of the square if they want any success within the next 5 years.

An appointment can be expected probably close to this time next week

Weeks or months?
It's all the SANFL's fault.

If thats possible? thats only 1 spot lower than where they finished this year, no doubt its possible.
I've been saying for quite some time, some fossles down there need to move on but no-one has the balls to move them on, theres plenty of talk about it but no action, remember actions do speak louder than words.
I don't like bringing up the Matthew Knights saga of yesteryear but i can't help it, the sooner they introduce some new ideas ( structures ) and add to their game plan the sooner they'll go forward but don't expect a premiership in the first year like the current board did with Matthew.
The thing is getting it through the thick heads of some down there.
A couple more years like this one could spell THE END for the best SANFL club in history.
I bet the Power would like that!

Knights summed it up perfectly on the radio tonight, the coaching team had their game plan and goals, the Port board had theirs, the 2 never matched........

Did I dream this or has Tregenza been appointed at Port Magpies?
If so, that's a very bold move indeed with his past coaching record.

As a matter of interest, what would other SANFL clubs be paying their coaches?

Not that much Booney but I believe one of the recently appointed coaches is also on a six-figure sum.

He certainly is. He was on 110K in the first year, not sure if it has risen since then.
