Kieran McGuiness a confirmed out for Norwood for 2008.

He has signed an extended contract for 2009 and 2010 though.

I recently went on a canoe camp to the Murray for uni with Grocke, absolute top bloke, very passionate about his footy. He couldn't wait to get back into it.

Well, if you're going to go canoeing on a river, you will need to get back into it at some stage!

These days you can't afford to wait till after the draft otherwise you're just left with the dregs or players in positions you don't need.
I'd say that most clubs would only want to be entering the market after draft time if some players got drafted that they need to replace.
Things are a lot different to 10 years ago.

Plus so far its Banger, Hart, Howard and Wakelin out with only 2 definate ins.

Anyway we should be on the Ins and Outs thread with this talk.

Back to the topic, is a matter of players leaving because they think the club is in disarray or because it will be too hard under Jack? Be ironic if some of the players that go were the players causing angst for Pyman.
Perhaps they should have held onto Pyman if the players were going to go anyway
?

So apart from the above listings, lets get this right
Ins for North Adelaide
1 Stephen Doyle
2 Rory O'Brien
3 David Clarke

plus highly maybes
4 Daniel Ward (Melbourne)
5 Jason Torney (Adelaide Crows & Souths)
6 ????????? (Another mystery man from West Aust)

Thats good shopping so far, one good thing is with the weakening US Dollar we got whole lotta bang and buying power out of the Aussie Dollar :D :D :D

You are correct and if you are, with a quality ruckman at last ready to take that nos 1 spot from centrals, all going well potentially a very very good side,,, David clarke is the strange one in the mix but he is a tough nut and all sides need one

Well Clarke may turn it around from what he has done on and off the field at South - I can recall everyone scoffing at North when we got Howard who had his own issues at West. At least with Clarke he is tried and tested unlike some of the interstate recruits some clubs get who turn out to be duds - North included in that mix as well!

Clarke is a lil sniper, but a side needs one at times

Is that better BPBRB, and i predict in the crystal ball that Jason Torney becomes an assistant coach at rooster land

A name for the other mystery man from the west???????

On 5AA tonight Ian Perrie said he intends to play SANFL next year

Fairly obvious not with the Roosters

But he will be an 'in' for one of the other 8 teams

He said he has spoken to a couple of clubs already - which teams do we think would have a crack at him?
In between signatures .....

I think the other WA bloke is out at this stage but my mail tells me another 2 club AFL player (B&Fat one) is well "on the radar" and the only sticking point is how much he wants vs how much North will pay. He would be a very good pick up if we land him.

Edit - the above rumoured player is no longer in the open market so that rules that out!

Not trying to bait or anything, im being serious.

Are North over recruiting this year. If all is true they have signed Doyle, Clarke, O'Brien, Hunt, Davis and maybe still a couple to come. IMHO North are only a minor tweak away from being the premiership side. All these recruits seem to be a bit of an overhaul. Is this what North need, this close to winning a premiership?

Sometimes to many recruits can cause disharmony amongst the playing group, I would think a few current players may think Jarman doesn't have faith in the playing group. Also with so many players possibly coming into the starting 21 it may take them a long time to get use to Jarman's style and game plan.

With the Roosters reserves going so well over the last couple of years, i thought North would very be quiet yet selective in the transfer market, trying to just pick one or two to add to the quality already there. We all know loads of recruits don't mean instant success, and possibly the opposite with Port and South being the two most active clubs recruiting wise yet struggling big time on the field.

Just my opinion though.

Well so far we have lost:

Hart (defender)
Howard (utility)
Bamford (wingman)
Wakelin (ruckman)

It is rumoured that Schubert and Coulter are having a think about Country footy and we will most likely lose Cubillo at least in the draft.

So far confirmed in's:

O'Brien (on baller/wingman)
Clarke (utility - defender hbf or wingman or even on ball?)

so it's 2-4 as far as official in's and out's go.

I would say that we would at least need to get one experienced ruckman so it may be Doyle (just rumours at this stage) plus another because other than Matt Down in the ressies the ohter young ruckman James Wundke is a cert to be drafted and he hasn't had a crack at League for us yet.

We would need at least Hunt and Davis as KPP defenders and if we jagged either Ward or even more unlikely Torney then we are basically covering losses - you could argue the quality of players re those going vs those coming. Hopefully next year Kinglsey Walker will get over a horid 2 year injury run (freak injuries too) and he will be big plus fully fit and can play the role Howard played. Daniel Ebert, Owen Weatherley and Brett White fully fit would also be big bonuses.

So to answer your question - no, we need to recruit about the number of players being rumoured to arrive at Prospect and I think that the recruits will be slective to our needs.
