Maybe Alwyn Davey no. 2 Munkara as well. Plenty of pace and hardness will beat the blues. Must stop the supply to Chambers. Go you mighty panthers kick some powder puff ass.

Ah Rochowi, so many responses there.....

"Powder puffs". That's a tad rich champ.

I think I'll reserve them for after the game though mate as I am sure the footy gods will have taken note.

Go the Mighty Blues!

You could get a job at the Sunday Mail with that type of insightful observation rochowi...

Speaking of Powder Puffs (or should I say Powder Poofs) your team was softer than a pillow full of marshmallows last time we met...

I'll grant you that I think this time will not be the same type of walkover.

Big game for us this week at the mud heap. We will sorely miss Carliles' size v Chambers- as Bennett, Hateley or Prendergast havent got the strength to go with him.
Clarrie ,if you think we are soft maybe you should remind yourself of our meetings last year......

Agreed, last year we played with a serious lack of desire. Playing Jarjoura on Cupido all day wasn't the worlds greatest ever match up either...

But...how quickly times change B&W... About this time last year you were looking forward to playing finals!

Sturt will certainly go in as favourites but I can see the Panfers coming out with all guns blazing. If they don't recognise the importance of this game, they may as well write off any slim chance they have of being involved in the major round...

Chambers will be a real thorn in your side, although I didn't think Carlisle's effort against him on your home turf was anything to write home about anyway

Go Blues!

Wow, how times have changed and memories fade!!!

Clarrie, do I sense a slight bit of arrogence and cockeness in your previous posts?

I think if Sturt under-estimate South they will fall. Chambers has to be stopped. I believe you stop Chambers, you stop Sturt.

Mental note - must go shopping Saturday morning for my bread and see the butcher for my dripping, ok Clarrie???? :)

8) Kicked 3 goals against norwood 3 weeks ago and 3 against port the week before that and we won both games. Bagged 7 against the eags earlier in the year and we lost.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Exceptions can always be found Clarrie, but I reckon the general premise that Chambers playing well is linked to Sturt playing well is sound. The fact that 3 goals is highlighted as a bad game almost proves this, rather than disproves.

Anyone who kicks 3 and is considered to not play well is vital to their team!

Clarrie you remind me of a typical one eyed double blues supporter. We are only half game out of five and our finals chances are slim. Not sure how you come up with this. After Sturt we have Norwood, Glenelg, Port, West. Five very winnable games.
Time to show how good we are for we have been underperforming this year. I think Prendergast is a good match up for Chambers. He is stronger than Carlile and more experience. Archard, Kenna, Parry, McGrath and Wright need to have a blinder in middle to get down to forwards quickly.

that's the beauty of it all smac.

if the opposition need to place two players on chambers (which has been occuring lately) that means there's a free man somewhere.

last time we played (against the bays), chambers kicked 4, was named in the best players and we lost...go figure...

i predict chambers will kick 3 on the weekend, not be named in the best players and we'll still win... predicted margin - 22points...

only time will tell!

Read back through my posts and you'll see that I'm biased but not one eyed!

If you've been reading the posts on this forum you'll also be aware that the few south supporters who post on here seem to have realistically given up on making the finals quite a while ago (too early for that in my opinion). Your %, which is second lowest in the comp, won't help you too much come crunch time.

Look, if I had a choice of who I'd like to see steal 5th spot, it would be South...but lose on Saturday (which isn't a foregone conclusion) and it will really make your task hard.

After all, Sturt have yet to prove themselves as a fair dinkum contender according to most

If you can't beat us, what chance do you have against the raging favourites for the flag - Glenelg

Clarrie how things can change in one week of football. Always though South had the players but were not playing as at team. Big test against you to see how good they are. Deservedly so you Blue boys have got confidence in your team this year. If you drop this one the confidence of players and supporters will be fading fast. All the pressure in on Sturt to hold on now.

I have to disagree with you there my friend.

Every side of course has pressure, week to week and game to game. But if you ask me, I would much rather be in Sturt's position than that of South Adelaide.

Sturt have defied expectations to be 8 - 4 and two games clear of WWT in third spot, whereas South are in a four way battle to make the five and coupled with that, have an awful percentage.

Sturt have proven they can take on and beat the best and probably only need two to three more victories to guarantee a finals spot that would have been laughed at in pre-season, South have to keep winning to even have a chance of contesting the major round.

I suppose it all comes down to how you define pressure, rochowi.

I think that so far this year South have under performed greatly. With the list we have, which in my opinion is better on paper than last years, we really havent clicked at all. Not even close. In the run up to the finals hopefully the penny will drop that the club will not tolerate a year of no September action. Especially after getting a taste last year. All the playing group and coaches should be fully aware of this. Last weeks effort against Port was an improvement but there is still a long way to go. This week against Sturt we will be tested no doubt, but it will be a test of character for many of our up until now underperforming "names." Looking forward to travelling to Unley on Saturday for the game. Can you buy a beer there now or do you still have to be a Sturt member ..? 8)

I was refused a beer from their so called "members tent" in front of the grand stand about 3 or 4 years ago. I actually thought the barman was joking and laughed. Ahhh...no, he was dead serious and directed me to the West End caravan on the Northern side of the ground.
I have always held a bit of a grudge on Sturt over that as it was not just me but other South supporters too.
Since Sturt have been given this secret "so called" money will it be put up again?
Will a cheese and cracker plate be on sale?
