Spot on there Dutchy. As a North member previously living in the country, Barrie would respond to emails personally in his marketing role with the club and encouraged me to catch up with him when at a game. I did that and didn't have to remind him of who I was,

This topic has been raised before. No disrespect to Marjorie Jackson, but if a woman nicknamed 'the Lithgow Flash' (for obvious reasons) can be Governor of SA, then you'd have to rate one of the most talented native-born-and-bred SA sportspeople of all time a chance. Especially when he's respected and admired by everyone he's ever crossed paths with.

Barrie Robran
19/02/2007

On Saturday night I was invited to an evening at the Mount Lofty Cricket Club to celebrate the 40 th. Anniversary of that Club. It was a
delightful occasion, although a tad warm, and I met some lovely people, including a family of 3 generations of Rooster members.

Grandparent Kaye Carthew is a Rooster member, as is her son Andrew {and wife, Sarah} and their two sons. Andrew is also President of the Club. So I was in good company. Also present and a past player of the Club was leader of the opposition, Mr. Ian Evans. There are also 3 generations of the Evans' family who have played for the Mount Lofty Cricket Club.

On the night we auctioned some items of sporting memorabilia and made a few extra dollars for the Club and for the community organisation, Operation Flinders.

Thanks Mount Lofty Cricket Club for including me in your celebratory milestone.

If you guys actually read the article, it was regarding his comments on http://www.nafc.com.au !
What is more surprising out of this, is that Michaelangeloportpower Rucci visited an SANFL site! (although in his defence, he may have googled "AFL" & that tidbit jumped up)

Gotta love this last pararaph from Rucci in that article:

"I use this column to communicate news items and my thoughts to members, not to be publicly quoted in newspapers," Robran said. His column can be found on http://www.nafc.com.au.

Shows the arrogance of Rucci....

Rucci, well i don't really need to say it as we all know what a tosser he is. He's just got his knickers in a knot because someone of far higher standing in the game and someone he knows is held in the highest regard by all people in football circles had a go at him. He's got no comeback other than to try to make Barrie come across poorly. He doesn't manage it though. Interesting he doesn't mention Barrie's comment about him.

I suspect Ben Hook has grabbed plenty of info from here for his Sunday Mail articles, seems to match up in an uncanny manner...

Rucci the slime bag that he is has reached a new low today, if he read Barrie's comments every day you would see he is always making 'tounge in cheek' comments even against players in the NAFC league team. Rucci has been critised and of course his best way to comeback is to personally attack the person through his paper someone who has far more respect in the football community than himself.

Rucci's articles are not for reading, they are for laying to one side and avoiding. I pride myself on not having read a Rucci article for many years. I feel better for it.
