Eagles had a productive 3rd quarter building a lead with 6 consecutive goals whilst Centrals continued to bomb high to a congested goal square.
Dogs surged with 4 goals in the opening 10 minutes of the last with quicker ball movement and then it was a battle of attrition as 2 teams showed their passion and desire was definitely in the contest even if their skill level was not.
Eags had the best 3 players on the ground (Mutch, Sinor and Rowe) and the most dominant forward (Ballenden) whilst the Dogs had more input from a wider spread of players.
Zac Adams was terrific with his overhead marking at half back in his first game; 2 of our 4 recruits misfired but Zac and Annand (in ruck) did well.
Wilson Barry on a wing showed why coaches think so highly of him and Leyton Chisholm was excellent in close with 9 tackles and 5 clearances; damn we missed him being fully fit last year. Thought Ollie Shaw had several important moments and Mani Liddys strong running in the last quarter was valuable.
Kobe Mutch may have picked up a concussion. But more serious could be the knee injury to highly valued Dogs defender Brinn Little.

We have been saying this for a few seasons now .
When we go quick we look so much better and are a chance to score.
So we can do it .

We got out of it with a win but if we play like that next week against Glenelg will slaughter us .
Hopefully Brinn Little will be ok looked like a knee injury.

Massive loss. Great player. I always feel extra bad for the interstate lads when they cop a long term injury.
How to cover this? Montgomerie may be available again this week. Another option could be to play Kitschke down back and bring in a crumbing fwd (Gasper, Callinan).

Yep, Kitschke go to defense & Gasper in, he's too good to be playing reserves.
How bad is the Pres & how long is he out for?
