A great chance for all Port Adelaide barrackers to get along as the Power interstate - only port game on this weekend. Of course everyone welcome.

It will be interesting to see how many turn up.

Port is based just down the road, the Power are interstate, it is not on TV, there is no clash with local AFL and bar Oakbank there is not much on.

On the negative side are people going away for Easter (although they can come back early).

8,000 would be amazing but if 25% of those who went to Adelaide Oval last week turned up we would clear it easy.

Oh and it should be a good game ... the Magpies coming off their whitewash of the Tigers and the Eagles undefeated.

Pre-season I has these two as my predicted grand finallists

With Oakbank being on and how many people go away for Easter, throw in average weather with possible showers and 25% of the 8000 will be a good effort.

Spot on Aerie. Tas Fitzgerald should be played in one of the tall backline positions. The club MUST develop him.
Played one sensational quarter at CHB during one of the games in the U18s finals series last season, the other three quarters were played at CHF where he kicked six goals.

The Eagles are excited to announce a special promotion for our round 3 Blockbuster Easter Monday home game against Port Adelaide.
The highest attendance ever at Woodville oval was just over 11,000 in 1986, in the Warriors pursuit for the finals. That match was against Port…

Now Woodville Oval is known as Maughan Thiem Hyundai Oval.

If a crowd of 8,000 spectators attends the Easter Monday match, our good friends at Maughan Thiem Hyundai will give away a car on the day to one lucky spectator!
To enter the draw, simply fill in the entry form at the gate, it’s that easy!

Better chance at X Lotto.

Admire the promotion but clearly just trying to get 4,000 to the game which Im sure they would be rapt with.

Not only Easter but a heap of people have gone away for the whole week with the short working week/school holidays.

A promotion (with incentive such as car give away) will only work if people think there is a realistic chance of it actually being given away.

Linking the give-away to 8000 people is completely ridiculous. Everyone knows it will not be reached.

It would be more of an enticement to give away 500 chocolate milks if we reach 4000 people which would be a sensational result.

Appreciate the efforts but not great marketing guys.

Would have thought 8000 people is achievable given these 2 club are playing good footy, it's a public holiday and both clubs have big membership numbers. Get a few walk ups at the gate and def could hit the 8000 mark!

Well the terraces here are as packed as I've ever seen them, they could be giving that car away after all.....

Eagles have NEVER had pet memberships.

Crowd today of 4,247 was biggest at Maughan Thiem Hyundai Oval since 2000, bigger even than our ANZAC Day game crowd in 2000.

Was about 1,500 more than the last time we hosted Port at Woodville, in recent years at Woodville we average just under 3,000 against Port.

Also biggest Easter Monday crowd since 1986. (OK there have been no Easter Monday games since 1986 ;) ).

For mine the initial aim of getting the Eagles to host a game on Easter Monday (which is not great for players or officials) was to generate an event that would draw a crowd of 4,000 plus. That was achieved so personally I am very happy. :D :D

Was great that a sponsor (Maughan Thiem Hyundai) were happy to come to the party and assist with an excellent pre game promotion.
