Better not hit the turps too much at the game mate you might throw a few if those Yabs are looking for a bite with various props. Unless you've paid off the mortgage then swing away. ;)

Gonna have to bunk work this weekend!

Kinda glad Port's last (meaningful) game in the SANFL is against Glenelg.

Started following footy in the 80s when the Port/Glenelg rivalry was at its most bitter/intense/hostile. Bordered on outright hatred at times. Maybe not bordering.

We hated each other's guts!

So yeah, Port v Glenelg has always been THE rivalry for me.*

Please make the coffin. Funeral procession through the Bay and laps around. For ol' times sake...

*Calm down Norwood fans. There's a-lot of Port fans who regard Port v Norwood as THE rivalry. Just like there's plenty who regard Port v Sturt as THE rivalry, too.

Those Grand Final Coffins were GOLD :D

I am going to this game instead of Richmond on Sunday (hate Sunday Footy - work next day, bad timing) - Finals worse with Double Header

Think you will find there are lots of 'non-Port' people going on Saturday to say 'Good-bye Magpie' - perhaps 'Bye Bye Birdie? ;)
Some taking 'Mini Eric' as a final 'Feck You' to the SANFL Directors - sad day for football in this state.
Black armbands might be the order of the day?

We've either "Loved 'em or Loathed 'em" over 138 years - it's sad that money 'took them' :(

Park your car in the wrong spot, and Holdfast Bay Council will be doing plenty of fundraising. Mongrels. And Glenelg Primary is also an Election Polling Booth - vote early, vote often.

First time I ever drove to a game at Glenelg - way back in 1993 - I copped an $11 parking fine.

I was outraged!

But never parked facing the wrong way again...

The wheels may already be in motion I believe for a sincere farewell ;)

Impale the magpie on a wooden spoon. Then you can taunt both sets of supporters with the one object.

With the announcement today about Port Magpies going on next year, surely the tears and theatrics for this weekends game will be postponed 12 months.

If you're going to stalk my posts, at least have the balls (assuming you're a bloke) to take that bet for a carton of beer that I proposed on another thread (assuming you're of legal age to consume alcohol). ;)

I wouldn't have thought so. The latest proposal is still to have the Magpies League as an AFL Reserves team next year, and only 2 (maybe 3 if Ah Chee plays) Power players have been named to play on Saturday, compared with up to 21 playing next year.

The most significant change to Port Adelaide in the SANFL League competition is happening at the end of this year, not for 2015 (assuming the latest proposal gets up).

We will not compromise the SANFL competition (with AFL reserves teams)."

So Power are or aren't using Maggies as their 2014 Reserves?
