"If you ever want to see passion in the SANFL, the Prospect Oval is the place to be."
I have to say to say the reaction after the last goals and when the siren went was the best for as long as I can remember to be honest!
Good crowd today - the best of the Round I believe but that was due to weather Friday night as you would expect on a good night Nwd v. Sturt to easily double North v. West.

It was brilliantly put by Mr Herden and summised the atmosphere to a tee. I got tingles up my arm when Thring kicked that goal and the stand just erupted.
PhilH passionately put it perfectly !!!

Given how few delisted players get a 2nd go around in the AFL: Dan Currie, Sam Rowe, Dean Terlich, Simon Phillips, Jonathan Simpkin (via VFL) and Peter Faulks (via VFL) is a pretty solid shopping list of players who've been on the Sydney Swans list, been delisted, and then played well enough at state league level to get another crack at the AFL. The Swans drill a good work ethic, and team-oriented habits, into their players; and modern AFL list-management means that you need to dump players each year who, if you had larger list sizes, could definitely still make the grade at AFL level. 'Ex-Sydney Swans' is a valuable calling card for anyone shopping themselves to SANFL clubs in the off-season.Big Phil wrote:Yep, totally agree.
Met his old man after the game, who said there are a few AFL clubs keeping a very clise eye in him.
I don't want to harp on about it, but seriously, the guy can bloody play !!!

Yes the game was called really well - I stopped working around the house in the last 5 minutes to listen.
