Agreed.
On that display, there are only 4 sides in contention this year and the Eagles aren't one of them.
Eagles= Graeme Hick - flat track bullies who get found out against better opposition.
Game over at 1/4 time in my opinion and followed same trend as many of the E vs CD games at Eliz the past 10 years - Centrals get early 3-4 goal lead and hold onto it and win by similar amount.
First time I've seen CD this year and they completely outclassed us and looked like CD of old.

I guess technically, all teams are still in the premiership race.

So out of the 12 behinds that Eagles kicked, 8 times Central full back kicked out to a Central player on his own in the pocket and the ball was cleared from 50. Almost always the outer side. The other 4 times the full back kicked to himself and cleared 50. That is something the Eagles can control and the pressure from kick out was non-existent.

Rubbish - I would think depending on where teams finish in the top 5 at the end of the minor round it is reasonably open to date. I think the 5 may well be settled now so it is a matter of the double chance etc. and not getting injuries that could determine the ultimate favourite for the flag. Too early to call.

Agree i think all 5 teams who are currently in the 5 have claims for a shot at the premiership IF they can get a good run of health at the right time of year.

Though i still think there is a gap between the top 3 and 4,5.

Still not sure about Glenelg from what I've seen of them.
The other 4 appear very strong tho.
Don't think Eagles fans should get too upset. It is possible sometimes that you have a bad day. Just so happens they had a bad day when Centrals had a good day.
Was good to see the dogs looking ruthless at home again, much like the first quarter against Sturt a few weeks ago.

Only downer of the day was the poor crowd... we couldn't do a poznan on the Northern hill

Good to see Obst back and Cam Milne back playing league. Thought he showed real promise before injuring his hip - can still recall that sickening crack. Excellent tackling and the side today showed a glimpse of its potential with Laird and the selectors finding their own form.

How refreshing to have an opposition supporter appreciate this facility.

The Eagles were well beaten and Centrals are nicely placed to keep moving up the ladder now.
For us to play that way for Powell's 200 & Lewis's 100 was a true look at where we are as a club right now.
Leadership is a problem as it was years ago, identified by the club hierarchy and was one of the reasons for last seasons pathetic start.
Godden is banging on about solutions ie. junior development, and that's all good and nice moving forward Michael, BUT YOU have played a major role in us being a dead set mid table team or as stated by other's, Flat Track Bullies!
As a club we love now talking up the solutions and conveniently ignoring the PROBLEMS.
It's time for Godden and Hentchel to get the heat for 2 years of CRAP recruiting ( Ainger excluded ) and not addressing the OBVIOUS lack of midfield quality.
Anyone doubting that only has to ask why would Godden change his gameplan after Round 2's thrashing ?
That's not something you would do if you had confidence in the squad that you and Trent had put together is it?
Now Godden is saying how the game has changed etc. but for the last year and a half he's been in denial that a one dimensional midfield mix ( Goldsworthy excluded ) can beat up on the top teams that can rotate quick mids in all game who have the ability to run and spread as a group.
The credit points from the 2011 Flag have unofficially run out from the die hards in the cheap seats, recruiting and talking up B grade depth is not what we go and stand in the rain for ; that weak effort yesterday is the norm now against the top teams because games are won and lost in the middle...... rocket science???
At least put Raymond and Sumner into the middle ffs, admit Lewis is the BIGGEST front runner of all time, hide powell at half forward and
start scouting the players to recruit into our one trick midfield ( Parry excluded ).

Great win by the boys yesterday. Watched it on telly at family show and we were all pretty chuffed with the result.
Great tackling. Knew we were in for a good day when the boys were tough around the packs.
Still...hesitant to say we're a threat to the contenders. Not because we're not good enough - as our best is - but because we still managed a fade out yesterday. 'Twas a great effort to push the margin back out when threatened. Also, a lot will hinge on the availability of Colquhoun, Callinan and Henderson as well.
Milne's performance was excellent.

Sorry for having an opinion! On what I have seen the Eagles put up against west, North and central, they are not in the top 4 and we all know how hard the flag is to win from 5th. The only bright light being the win over Norwood where we played the appropriate football but may have caught Norwood off guard.

We won that game by playing good football IMO. To state the obvious we need to play that way to beat North, West, Central etc.
