I think Centrals will match it with the Eagles for most the game.

What will hurt is that 10-20 minute patch each week where the opposition really gets on top. Happened against Port in the 2nd quarter, but we clawed back and pumped them. Happened against Sturt in the 2nd a few weeks and they kicked 8 in a row.
Don't think Eagles will let us get away with it though.

Eagles by 24 points.

Big game no idea who will win

Both u16s and u18s won out there early this year.

I don't think it is hard for ANY of the other SANFL clubs to get a win over the Dog's underage teams, in the last few years...

Obviously Micky was referring to the League side. I think it was about 2004 or 2006, from memory

Yes I was Phil
This the game two senior players with milestone games and Eagles haven't won their since 2005 . This is the game the Eagles must win to show they are a top 3 side !!

I Know, but people should be a little clearer.

Hope we can produce the result they deserve - a win!

Absolutely. Lewis is having a consistent season and has been great since he's been at the Eagles. Powell is one of the best we've had. A nice article here on him - http://www.wwtfc.com.au/?p=27466

I remember the win at Elizabeth in 2004. It is the first game I remember seeing Powell and McKenzie play as I was overseas in 2003 when they arrived at the club. I remember them being pretty impressive then and since.

Powell, along with Parry, started it all in the 2011 GF and he has been at the bottom of every pack for the best part of a decade. I am glad he has had an opportunity to captain the club. Of course he has earned that right with his career previous to being captain but he really showed himself to be a good captain when he single handedly lifted the Eagles to victory against Sturt in Round 17 last year when we were bottom of the table and down by 4 goals at half time. That win sparked a revival that will hopefully continue this Saturday.

If all the players can show a little bit of the skill, courage and desire that Powell shows each time he pulls on the guernsey the Eags will win and win well.

Always good honest games between these two blue-collar clubs who have much in common.
A modern rivalry that should endure well past the Twins and Cicca etc.
I would take a one point win and be well pleased as they are rare at Elizabeth

True bays/north west/north use to be bitter rivals.

Rivalries also grow west/Norwood this year as an example.

Again i find myself preparing to head out there with confidence of a win, but I have done that a few time the last few years and come home empty handed.

Would like to think we will head into the match favourites but only just, our record up there would suggest otherwise.

The AFL inns/outs could determine this one. It very hard to work out the match-ups until Thursday Evening.

Groeke still not coming up concerning by the week.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Friday's forecast is a little rain and Saturday's a possible early shower, not sloggy conditions. Pity, I thought that rain may even things up a bit.

I think the Eagles may possibly have the advantage in the rain, what with us having more true hard-at-it types like Powelly as opposed to 'outside midfielders'. We certainly turned it on at Unley when the rain came down. Don't expect this one to be a flogging either way.

I think that rain would actually assist us. It negates the impact of the 'tall's'. We have very very few talls at present!!

In this game against the Eagles, the Bulldogs will recognise the 50th year of participating in the League competition.

The players will be wearing another special one-off jumper with the names of all 495 players that have represented the club during this time, at League level.

They will also be available to purchase on game day, at the Merchandise Caravan, for $75 each...

Here is a look at the jumper:
