Adelaide oval was packed out.

It was a carnival back in them days.

Over three days. Public holiday included.

Today, I couldn't name one player.

Why do we have these games.?

There will be 975 paying people attending, the rest will be free bee's.

And the media will report 3,795 attending...

When in reality, its only 2178.... ;)

The AFL has destroyed SANFL state footy. :D

Are you going?

Yes they did.

Oldfields bakery delivered bread by horse & cart past the Dog_ger house in my youth. The bread was still warm...

Fantastic to watch a delivery man whistle to a horse and he would stop.

Something we have lost.

Unlike today when you don't know how old your bread is...?

Or what country it has come from....

my god what a waste of time, effort and money.

if they want to promote interest in representative games, then by christ, DO NOT play meaningless games against lesser leagues. In the days of the 80's with lots of rep games going on, it was worth introducing QLD and other states. Nowadays, play the SANFL vs the top states if you're even going to bother. Otherwise, let it die, like it should.

Serious question, how much did they charge to enter this game?

The negativity towards these matches disappoints me - i.e. the branding of the game as meaningless. If you don't want to go to the game, you're free not to. However, while today's match wasn't much of a contest, we were seeing the best of what the Sanfl has to offer. It surprises me that the fact that the state team is playing alone doesn't interest people at all - after all it's only once a year.

There's no reason why playing for South Australia should mean less than it did back in the old days. If only 500 supporters of each club attended, the crowd would be half-decent. I just think it's a pity that the reasons offered for state footy dying off are so pathetic.

Anyway, it's over for another year, everyone will I guess be happy about the league games resuming...

It's not the price of a ticket "RB"

It's why and what for...?

I would rather pay to see south v port in a meaningful game that meant something.

What if SANFL players injured themselves for a season ending injury.?

SANFL is far too important now days to risk injury, don't you think..?

Against what team is this...

Why and what for? State pride means little to you I think, Dogger... :D

SA got the chance today to prove it's number 1...

You've gotta beat the weak teams to show that you're the best...

The risk of injury is surely a trivial reason for not playing this games, don't you think...?

It was meaningful for the players who were on the park...

I guess the state guernsey doesn't mean much for some these days... :(

If we all held hands we would not have circled the oval.... ;)

Without being offensive, state footy is gone my good friend... :D

Unless it is in a carnival format played by all state leagues over a long weekend to bring back interest.

Shared by all capital cities, rotating each year. :D
