Surprised Port didn't list Brett Ebert as a longer term injury and keep Mitchell upgraded. Can't see Ebert playing any AFL this year if Port continue as they are and Mitchell is very handy? Also cannot see Salter ever wearing the Power colours again.

Apparently Brett Ebert's iinjury will only see him sidelined for a further 5 weeks. To be placed on the long term injury list and upgrade a rookie, the injury needs to be listed as 8 weeks, minimum...

It is bad luck for the Power and a massive gain for the Eagles...

Still surprising and even more so that Port don't bullshit and make it a longer "out" period. They bullshit about everything else?

The system doesn't seem right. He deserves his spot in the AFL side. Oh well, we'll need everything we can get to beat Norwood so we'll take him!

I'm guessing there are also rules so teams don't flaunt the system. For example, if Port listed Ebert as having an 8 week injury so they could still use Mitchell, it would mean that he would have to sit out for 8 weeks even though he might "miraculously" recover in 5 weeks.

And for a player to have deemed to have recovered it would probably mean playing football at any level, not just AFL.

Therefore I would think Salter should be playing for the Eagles this week too (most likely reserves), otherwise it wouldn't have been in Port's interest to take him off the injury list this week if he wasn't going to play this weekend.

the disappointing thing is he should of went onto the long term injury list from the start. he's listed as 5-7weeks been out already for 3 or 4 weeks.

Correct, you can not play at any level if you are on the long term injury list. It wouldn't really be fair to ask Ebert to sit out three weeks of football when he is at risk of losing his spot on the list.

And now is probably not the right time to be bending the rules. Demetriou's head might blow off and Port could be subject to an investigation and a fine for bringing the game in to disrepute. Just because.

Eagles have name probably the fastest side they have had in the last 8 years tomorrow night. If we don't lose it, it won't be because Norwood have run us off our feet.

The only concern I have is naming only one recognised key forward - Ainger. If he doesn't fire then we could be in trouble. Redden is named at FF and will probably interchange there with Parry but will probably be only be good for a goal. Our midfielders will all need to kick 1-2 goals to get us over the line.

But I am quietly confident about this one.

All Norwood people respect the Eagles and never take them lightly.
Very obvious this will be a very hard fought game and I can certainly understand the " quietly confident " attitude from the Eagles.
Norwood by 32 points after a very hard first half.

Strong inclusions for the Eagles. Whether that makes them a better team remains to be seen.

Think they should've kept Fitzgerald. Especially with Grocke out.

Presumably Karpany is the one that played U18's in the first two rounds. Big call going straight from U18 to League, if he plays.

My thoughts on Norwood oval due to its size you can kick over the CHF forward position !!
And before I get attacked by Norwood fans not 100 % sureEagles will get the ball first to test my theory

Yeah, agree. If anything happens to any of our talls, not just Redden or Parry but also Ainger,Thompson, Culley or Day then we're in trouble without, say,Fitzgerald. Expect Kane to play most of the game on HB flank to release Brodie Smith into the midfield.
Sad to admit it, but only if all the AFL inclusions play to their better form, we have a chance.
Can anyone give us info on Karpany? Hasn't seen his name in the Ressies - has he jumped from the U18s team. ? height ?weight ? position he plays.
How long is Grocke out for?

Double edged sword - Salter playing in our Seconds. If his foot packs up again like last year in his attempted comeback, we lose him AND Kane Mitchell (who returns to Power with the benefit of a Listed Long Term Injury Player)
