The diehards will still be there but if the SANFL game is on TV and the Crows on TV straight after (or together at 4pm for 30 mins) it is tricky to compete against.

Shouldn't these lists be ending with something witty like "watching Central flounder onfield with no Gowans twin in sight - PRICELESS" ?

I can see crowds becoming bad this year as the weather turns and if potentially 3 sides dominate with only Norwood being the one with a great following, and with the style 2 of the top 3 sides have played in recent years.
Some of the teams that I think might be in the bottom 6 traditionally have virtually noone rock up when they're losing to.
$14 is ridiculous too, should be no more than $10.
The SANFL would make more money if they lowered it to $10 with more people at games and more people buying food and drink, its borderline retarded being $14.

Thought there would be over 7000 -8000 there at the bay last night.

Bays had a great win over us and looked red hot.

Disappointing as I thought most Bay fans would have jumped on the train again!! ;)

Agreed , $14 is a joke.

Add car parking at Noarlunga, food, drinks, petrol you could go see a live band and a meal.......I guess footy is 2 hours of entertainment, Just think it should be capped at $10....

Spot on mate, a market like the SANFL is all about bringing people to the product, and then hopefully if they enjoy it more $$ will be forked out on catering/froffies/merchandise and ultimately membership in the long run. We are aimed at the greater community, and to do this we need to make the experience as enjoyable and quality bang for buck as possible in today's financial environment.

Not so sure about that - normally the South or West games at Elizabeth still get 2- 2.5k. Your right though the Downs do get decent crowds, especially in recent years. UUU DOWNS

Well you point out a positive from us not being so dominant, it will bring opposition supporters to Elizabeth. Turn out from North Saturday nights wasn't too bad, I have seen much better but the scare campaign about night games a few years back did its damage.

I think there is some reason for concern when the Port/Sturt and Glenelg/Norwood matches could only attract a total of 7,500 when both were at night with basically perfect weather.

Will see how the season pans out but the signs aren't good to be honest.

Will the league be issuing another backslapping media releae about how good the crowds were this week? Reckon they may have gone a bit early pumping their own tires up and scheduling some gimme clashes all in one week. Can't see crowds beating last year, despite all the hype about he no called master fixture.

Those supporters obviously dont have a huge allegiance to their SANFL side then.
Personally if Essendon and Norwood are playing at the same time, I will go and watch the Legs and listen to the Bombers on radio and record the game to watch later. I would never consider staying at home and watching them on TV whilst Norwood is on

No, but it's the fringe supporters that make the crowd big or small. The die hards on their own will only produce an average crowd at best.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
