LOL So what was Fuller supposed to use for a spoil if not his fist?

Yes I see your point, Fuller and Parry are very similar with their indiscretions

He was meant to use his fist, just on the ball, not the man. It's easy to say that a player was going for the ball in any incident like this, and most of the time that would be right. But from my view, also near the incident, this was not the case. This was one of those incidents where the guy was very clearly only going for the man from my view.

I'm not referring to the hit on the (North?) player last year which was obvious. He's been suspended at least twice for other incidents which went entirely unnoticed at the time.

Writing this as devil's advocate, not necessarily as an Eagles supporter, but was it reminiscient of the Kane-Gallagher incident, being late after a mark?

What's he done other than the hit on the North player last year?

Nothing like it, Kane bumped (hence the reason Gallagher went to sleep) him after a mark .. Fuller went for a spoil, which is a legitimate action. lol Can't believe how much is being made of an attempted spoil.

A couple of reports from the SANFL tribunal affecting Westies...

SANFL Media Release wrote:TRIBUNAL REPORTS:

Aaron Fielke (West Adelaide FC) - offered a 1 Match Penalty by the SANFL’s Incident Review Panel for striking Norwood’s Jace Bode. He has until 9am Tuesday 23 April to decide whether he will contest his charge.

Shane Birss (West Adelaide FC) – offered a 2 Match Penalty for making contact with an injured player. He has until 9am Tuesday 23 April to decide whether he will contest his charge.

Not sure about the Fielke incident, but you can clearly see what Birss is cited for, at about the 6:10 minute mark of 'The Recovery Session', as below:

Pretty gutless by Birss, I noticed it at the time and hoped our lads stored it away for future reference.

6.20 minute mark, why would someone do that? That is PATHETIC! What if the player had a ruptured spleen or punctured lung? This sort of stuff deserves a much harsher penalty! What next, push someone off a stretcher??

The Birss incident happened right in front of me and was a dead set gutless act. Deserved 5+ to be honest. Fielke's was a soft incident, barely was a free kick let alone a report. Rolfe did a worse one against us at Noarlunga and didn't even get cited despite it being caught on vision. Unlucky on one but probably lucky with the other.

Nothing in the Birss incident IMHO. Unbelievably soft to get reported for that.
Are players expected to make a full medical assessment of a player before they make any sort of contact?
And where do you draw the line?
If a player has the ball and picked up a corky early in the game noone should be tackling him as he's injured.
