Hmm could be a problem if Sturt qualify for a home final in 2014 then?

They could move it to The Parade like their game against Port this week.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea if it came about as I don't think some people could handle another game on their precious dog walking/sh****** facility.

wouldnt think Sturt members would have trouble getting a ticket to a home final. Maybe you could join this year as well just to make sure?

Very easy at Unley.

One thing was bugging me all day. Are you allowed to go on the south eastern corner of the ground from the scoreboard near the bowling green to the shelter on the eastern wing? Not one person went there but I couldn't see why. Seemed bizarre no one went under that shelter when it started raining.

That side of the ground is blocked of to the public on match days. Hence why nobody went there when the rain came down.

Speaking of rain the 2 Eagles fans I saw get into their car at half time are regretting their decision to leave now  They must be Crows supporters as well ;)

Funny in my case it was the gate by the toilet . I think at one stage the budget seller was trying to tell the sanfl officials about me getting in . They were to busy eating Easter eggs and trying to tie up the fence to stop people gaining access to the scoreboard to read the score !! It was after a heated discussion with some eagles fans that Sturt put up the small scoreboard .The balding sturt bloke was complaining about having no 1 to do it !!

Well at least the heated discussion which didn't involve me was fun to hear !!

I must confess I was thinking about it but something said to me (ok my 24 yo son) Eagles will play better in the rain

If we are picking on AFL fans the 6 Sturt people standing behind me and complaining about the length of the 50 metre the length of the quarters no pies in the canteen .And talking about the glory days of sturt !!
Welcome to the SANFL guys

Only saw bits and pieces on the telly.
Most worrying for both sides is that when the opposition was on top, the other side didn't seemed to give too much, and for the Eagles we were lucky that ran into the half-time break.
Looks like we have a very even side this year, not a handful of stars and others playing good footy around them. This year it really is going to have to be "All played well" every week for us to do any good, meaning blokes like Culley, Goldy, Lane amongst others are going to have to turn up every quarter, every week.

RB, one way for you not to lament Grocke's goal kicking would be to have him play at CHB. At this time of his career I think this move would suit him and the team perfectly. Zac Fitzgerald at FF with his very accurate kicking would adequately replace Grocke.
It was great to see a low to the ground crumbing player in Angus Poole in the team. We looked so much better balanced with him in the team, a great debut. It's a long time since we had this type of player.
When Luke Powell's reign as captain comes to an end Angus Rowntree has to be the next captain of the club, his direct no nonsense football and his improvement from year to year would make him an ideal replacement. Showed great leadership on Saturday.

Definitely a game of 2 halves, Sturt tried to keep playing running football and didn’t adapt well to the wet conditions in the second half.
As mentioned Riley, Krause, Kane, Panozzo and of course young Ziggy were good but I thought Fraser Evans was great down in defence, especially when the eagles kept bombing it in in the second half.
Graham was clearly the better ruckman in the first half although didn’t do as much as I would like around the ground. Plenty of upside for the blues IMO although bitterly disappointing in the wet. I’m sure the players will be better for playing a game together as many I doubt would have spent too much time at Unley in the preseason.
Eagles lacked pace and the weather slowing the game down certainly helped them IMO…. Ainger is great pick up!
