We went through a similar thing from 04-09 mate, so can understand how you feel .. For all the negative comments he's copped over the years, AC has done a remarkable job turning your club around, as Bass has done for us, with one of them about to receive the ultimate reward.

Agree, enjoy the day everyone. I reckon west are like we were in 2010, surprised to be there after such a poor run over a number of years! Norwood are now like Central. Unfinished buisness, however, anything can happen on the day!

well written Rog. I enjoyed reading it alot. As a Bloods supporter since 1990 I have seen the heart ache of losses in 1991 and 2003. I wanted to be at 2003 bad but was moving. This year I would love to be there tomorrow but I have to work in the morning and cannot afford the time off. I am hoping after recent years of being down there West Adelaide finally break their recent string of losses and finally win the big dance. Norwood have been a great team the past few years but it will be a great day Sunday good luck to both sides but I really want a Bloods win.

What a great post rog. I am in a very similar boat although I didn't start attending Norwood matches until a little later. Speaking of favourite players you mentioned mine..Greg Turbill. As I am not the largest bloke in the world I always admired the tough little blokes and Turbs was an absolute gem. Speaking of Alberton Oval, every time I went to a Norwood game there we won...might have to get back there again one day to continue that streak.

Mate imagine how the Southies are travelling. Everyone except Centrals and Eagles fans haven't had much to cheer about in recent years really.

Seriously though, good luck to both sides & to the supporters of the victorious side, you will feel like there is no better feeling in the world. When We won in 2000, I went missing for 4 days! You won't want to leave the club forat least a week & you'll rush down to the ABC to buy your DVD. Then watch it several times when you get back home.

2000! We all loved Centrals then! Danny Hulm's acceptance speech was possibly the best I have heard at a GF. Craig Parry's was the worst! GF's can be great and they can also teach you a lot. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Rog's post tells why I so want Centrals to be back in the GF next season.
My whole family is at a loss what to do tomorrow.
I'll be there to watch the ressies, but the big show is afterwards.
Best of luck to both sides.

Well said PG

I still go to the footy expecting to lose, even though I am usually a positive person. Going tomorrow with low expectations but will gladly take the win. To win tomorrow will be great for not only the club but for those blokes that go ever week even through the woeful times. Players come and go but some of these supporters have been there for decades and have seen some utter crap. Respect to those blokes.

Obviously i'm a Port supporter & i know where your coming from Brodlach my missus is in that boat not just the blokes.
I was at your training session thursday night watching with a few frothies, I'll be there also on sunday supporting your boys.
Good Luck!
Go Bloods.

Clearly, you didn't get to Alberton all that often...

Reckon 86 & 87 are the only 2 Norwood wins there I can remember from the 80's, not sure about 85 .. Either way, we got beat a lot more often than we won.

Keith Thomas seems to enjoy going there each day.

Talks in terms of "we" when discussing the PAFC and loves to discuss the clubs history, even wears a black and white tie.
