I've never followed the SANFL hard enough true and from memory the format has changed a bit over the years.

So whoever wins this game goes into the GF and whoever loses has another chance the week after against the winner of CD vs NA and the loser of that game is out, is that right?

Gee, I would have thought someone who has played with Tredders and has forgotten more than most of us know about footy would get this simple formula right......WADH

Obviously forgot how finals work

For the record my comment was directed at one dropkick in the Crows section not anyone else.

I got a bit of a laugh out of it when Tredders wrote that column a few days later backing up what I was saying too!

Isn't that a tautology?

Massive test for Norwood against a team we've struggled with this year, I can only hope Jericho is fit and switched on and that the three week gap hasn't buggered us around too much.

Think we will win but a little concerned about the break and Wests talls give us problems, some rain on Sunday would be fantastic

Sorry mate, the final five has always been a fixed structure (and the best IMO) since the VFL and SANFL introcuded it in ealr-mid 70's, right down to country junior footy.
Interestingly, it was mentioned on the 5AA SANFL show the other week, the WAFL are voting in a couple of weeks to introduce it there.

Except for 2003 when it was a top 4, and from memory Port finished 5th(?). I personally think that now there are 9 teams instead of 10 a top 4 is probably more appropriate, but then again I like having 6 finals instead of 4.

Yeah, the SANFL didn't have 5 that year, but how a final five works has never been changed since it was introduced.

Nah, then it would have been all dropkicks in the Crows section.

Looking at the game Redlegs will be rusty from 23 days off but fresher. The Bloods had a cracker of a game against the doggies. I am tipping the bloods only because they have played the week before 12 to 18 points.

Norwood should come out and get the job done but they have let me down that many times in the last 30 years I wouldn't be surprised if westies grind them down and win.

Why would any Norwood "supporter" not head to AAMI on Sunday totally confident of winning?? :?
