North definately the best side today, led for 99% of the game and seemed to have an answer every time the Eagles got close

It was right in front of me, was touched, just that the umpire was quite sure if it was before or after.

Mr Fuller wrote:Well done North. Massive respect for the way the played the whole day. Very similar style to the eagles but were cleaner up forward and their outside players gave far better disposal.

As for the eagles, I thought we played pretty well (one of the reasons I don't feel so deflated) but were beaten by a better side. The scene was set early in the game in the way we could not take the most of our opportunities whereas North made every shot on goal count.

Better players for the Eagles I thought in no particular order - Day, Sumner, Goldsworthy, Powell, Hall, Knights, Shirley, Jarrad

Honorable mentions to Culley (proved me wrong after my criticism of him early in the week), Fitzgerald and Staple (for his first half)

Disappointing games from Parry and Rowntree

Thanks for the memories Cicca - he's been a true champion of the club and while his form has visibly dropped, his endeavour was as high as ever throughout this game continuosuly throwing himself in hard at the footy. Looks to be Shirley and Greigers last games as well. If so, then thanks for your efforts and you will be missed.

At the end of the day, we have no one to blame for the loss by ourselves. I truly believe had we scraped through today that we had the potential to beat any of the sides above us but not to be. Realistically however, we needed to finish in the top 3 and have that double chance but the garbage footy we played for half a season prevented that from occurring.

This is all pretty much my thoughts too.
Was a very entertaining game of SANFL footy, shoudl be more of it.
Bit like you Mr Fuller, not totally flat as we showed real endeavour and played reasonably well, but North were slightly better for longer and a little bit quicker.
I too was one that thought Culley was lucky to be in the side, but he played very well. Fitzgerald again showed his promise after a bit of a shaky start down back.
Good luck to North for the rest of the finals. Would be good to see that style take a team further, but alot will depend on Jimmy Allen's injury.
Couldn't ask too much more of the Eagles on the day, but we have a lot of things to work on as a club.
Thanks to Cicca, Greiger and Shirley for all their efforts. To be honest, and it has nothign to do with me, but a bit pissed off that Greiger is retiring because I reckon he still has a lot to offer.

You're dead right. We didn't outplay them; I thought over 4 quarters the play was fairly even. We chose the wrong day to kick poorly.

Why would Ben Grieger be retiring? He's only 26.

Great bloke though.

How bad was Jimmy Allan's corkie?

Didn't take any further part in the game from early in the final term, could possibly have been his last game today if he doesn't pull up and the should the Roosters go down next week?

A certain North supporter had to be restrained from running out on to the ground when it appeared that Alleway might be injured.
Be prepared for an emotional outburst, when Alleway leaves the oval for the last time

North efficient, Eagles inefficient as the stats will show.
To lose with 7 more scoring shots is unacceptable and would be burning in the guts of the Eags.
North keeping Lewis Johnston and Eagles losing Luke Thonpson made a difference as Luke has performed well all year against opposition key forwards.
On a positive note, youngsters such as Goldsworthy, Sumner, Culley, Hall and Fitzgerald all stood up under finals pressure.
Well done to Cicca, Shirley and Grieger, great servants of the club who will be sorely missed.
Congratulations to Angus Poole who won the Reserves Medal as announced back at the club tonight. Hopefully he can take the next step in 2013.
Eagles need to recruit wisely for 2013 with probably 4 key players needed.
