Blueandwhite summed up the night well. We had a good run with the umps for most of the night, but the decision on Liddle late in the game was utter crap. Reward the bloke that falls over... We had plenty of chances in the last 10 minutes to pinch a goal but our skills and decision making predictably let us down.

Ugly game (too much night footy scheduled IMO, very rarely are they a good spectacle).

4th loss by a goal or less in last 7 games...gets tiring.

Agreed saintal .... It is very tiring! I'm absolutely mentally spent this year following south ....

Liddle had two hands in the middle of his back, I would have been 20 metres away from that play, a certain free kick

The commentators saw it but didnt want to say much

If your talking the Ryan Willets free, McKernan got him high after he kicked the ball. Was a free but nothing else in it

May be a differant incident, cant remember a free given. Was only a few minutes to go until end of game, commentators said it was a fair way off the ball

Miller was felled in front of the South bench. Maybe 5 minutes to go. CK said he saw 'something' but decided not to comment further...

I saw it as well and if the cameras capture it, unfortunately Fisher is in trouble.

Great player and for the life of me don't understand why he has not been selected more in the league this year....

... Know there was some personal issues mid year but really should have been more of a regular in our side .

We seem to play better with him in .....

Miller certainly reads the play well and like Southee I'm surprised he hasn't been picked more often given we've persisted with guys like Pfeiffer and Watson who have struggled.

Miller's disposal let him down a few times tonight. Would like to see him play on after the mark more often.

West played some good footy in the first half but clearly failed to capitalise on the scoreboard, the game should have been over at halftime. However South hung in there and got out to a 10 pt lead with 7 minutes to go. Unfortunately for South the decision paid against Nick Liddle for a push in the back that resulted in a goal to West was almost laughable , most westies supporters near me thought it was....
but there you go..........s---t happens.,and it usually lands on people dressed in blue and white.

Would have to be close to the ugliest game of football Ive ever seen, with 18 west players playing in our attacking 50 when we were in attack...skills particulrly from South were appalling, thankfully by my estimation there were only about 900 people there to endure it.

I can say that with confidence knowing Ronnie doesn't have his teams roll that way, so jumping ahead, can you imagine a GF with Bassett and Collins......... just like an A league game with the possible result being 4-3 goals

Excellent stat gathering there... but as most people realise its the ones the umps dont pay that hurt the most.
The frees that were paid to South resulting in goals were all pretty obvious. As one previous contributor mentioned, South possess the arguably the 2 best forwards in the league; they are scragged and held at almost every contest so for West to win the game and only give away with 3 goals from free kicks is probably not a bad result.

Interesting that two people who didnt see the game can say it was Andy Collins fault for the ordinary game. It was the players poor skills that made the game ordinary. The oval was wetter and heavier than it looked.

so we need to improve our ball use going forward because it is quite clear when we get it in inside 50 we are very efficient and if we can get in their 40-45 times and restrict the opposition, no reason we could not win 11-12 games easily next year.

full credit, to our backline consider our weakest area on the ground let thier manage to keep us in a other tight game despite wests poor goal-kicking just like against sturt when we had 36 to 56 inside 50s let lost the game after the final siren.

Last week vs Norwood, 2200.
I find it hard to believe there was 1700 there last night compared to the Norwood game.
500 people less last night to the week before.
Any chance this number is wrong?
In my unexpert opinion, there wouldn't have been more than 1200 there last night.
Any other opinions?
