Centrals were $1.30 so Port were $3.70 or thereabouts

Just what Glenelg need, a fired up Dogs outfit next week

No, Centrals will be okay when they get some of those 31 injuries back.

Couldn't go, but got to see a little bit on telly occasionally, we were crap...Well done maggies, you were excellent today, hard at the ball, your tackling was supurb....

The dogs are just not quite there atm, losing Symes and Goodrem did not help, and we apart from Hardy, dont look good up forward.

Still, a few weeks yet to turn it around, a couple of players back, who knows.

LAZY LAZY LAZY peformance from the Dogs.

Well played Port way to good on the day was like the trial game all over again.

Only positives were Habel continues to impress and is penned in for a finals spot and at least Lairdy knows who isnt up to it and they need to be replaced immediatly. Would rather a performance like that now than a week out from the finals.

Sutherland needs to come in. Hannath has carried the rucks all year and needs some help now as the season wears on.

Banter on the outer wing bar was brilliant all day, if anything there was bit to much love going on except the indian "you suck my balls" bloke who was harmless and hilarious!

Interesting chat with the Gowans who didn't play. Takes things pretty seriously, wonder if they yap that much during the games? :D

Good win by Port, simply wanted the ball more all day and, dare I say it, made Centrals look old and slow.

Forward options a plenty and the back half with Beard and Raikiwasa in the key posts held up very well.

Salopek played well too, why'd the Bays not give him a go?

Definatly not an old midfield but is definatly slow with Habel being the only one with real pace and Port took advantage of that.

Lairdy needs to look at a way to add pace to the midfield which is only going to get slower when both Gowans are in the same side.

We really missed Goodrem who is probably our toughest in and under midfielder we have, while he doesnt have alot of pace himself he generally manages to keep it tight so pace isnt a factor.

Could be time to get in a Wittwer, Edmead to add some pace.

Lol, no. He did use that old chestnut of "How many games have you played?" along with some expletives.

I guess seeing I never played a league game I can't have an opinion. Some of my Div 6 reserves games were very, very average. But he wasn't willing to consider them, well, I don't think so anyway.

Most people understand the banter at Alberton Oval, I guess he's usually out in the middle so doesn't hear it as much.

I can imagine maybe he didn't value your opinion. Chris seems to get along with most reasonable people off the field. I'd imagine he'd have to deal with a lot of tossers in the crowd.

While meaning alot to Port, this won't mean much come September for the Dogs. Dropping the odd game when your a sure thing for top 3 is almost preferable at this stage of the season and anything is on the cards for a late run into a Grand Final ala 2011. Port though may have found another level, finally, and have a chance now for a storming run at the finals if they keep that 21 together!

I'm sure he does sjt, however my comment wasnt directed at him, just an observation on the game. I didn't realize he was there until the insults began to flow towards me.

I know when I've been a tosser, I'm sure we all have been or know when we have been. On this occasion however I was not, even the blokes he was standing with were a little flummoxed.

I'll take his advice about beer and pie intake on board.

I think Tony Bamfords finally ran out of patience with players that kept letting him down & the team, he's responded the way a coach should by dropping these regulars to the reserves.
Tony's job no doubt is on the line & he's been been feeling the pressure week in week out after disappointing performances by the same ones he's shown too much faith in & taken their position in the side for granted.
Some young ones in the meantime have been given an opportunity & have made the most of it which is going to now make it tough for these old regulars winning their position back in the side which is a great thing to have, its going to make them work alot harder on the track & finally realise your no certainty unless your pulling your weight.
Tony now is being rewarded for showing some faith & confidence in these young ones which has resulted in the TEAM gaining much needed BELIEF in each other, their workrate, pressure, intensity & ball use in the last couple of weeks has been exceptional a far cry from previous weeks, they a now showing the pride that we want to see when wearing that jumper.
I like what i see of late & it reminds me of the Port of old especially yesterdays game but they can't get carried away with it & rest on their laurels & think its just going to happen, it just doesn't happen they have to make it happen with fierce desire & determination.
Their shouldn't be any looking back from here, they have proved what they are capable of & now need to show consistency week in week out which will result in them playing in what you play footy for & thats finals. Who knows how far they can go as long as they don't cease in their quest to improve from here on, they can go after what they want & give themselves every opportunity to take it.

Can't believe I'm saying this, agree completely. Dogs still miles ahead of everyone when the finals come around.

Nice try Topsy but Norwood are head and shoulders above all other teams this year. Centrals have been average the last couple of years and maybe it has been their mental strength come finals that has got them to the GF's. However that can only take you so far. We don't have the talent this year to match the mental edge come finals in my opinion. If we get some players back from injury and they perform straight away then that might change.

Out of the team that played yesterday blokes such as Reichart, Habel have only played a couple of finals game and then Vater, Lawton, Collier, Marschall, Waldhutter havent played an SANFL final before. Thats a 3rd of the squad without alot/any finals experience. Its far from certain we are going to magically improved come finals.

Our losses this year have produced some of the worse football we have played since 1999.

This is going to be a huge test for Lairdy, definate changes to the side need to be made and straight away.

We need to play 2 ruckmen and then Hardy can be used at whichever end of the ground his required. Our defensive pressure in the forward line is non exsistent one of Thomas, Goodrem, Schiller need to be spending time up forward. At times Port were walking the ball out of defence.

In defence we had at least 4 of Collier, Sibenaler, Riechart, Templeton and Marschall, thats way to tall and once the ball hit the deck we were screwed. One must make way for Sutherland to come back in for me its Reichart. The other one under the pump would have to be Sibenaler. His as brilliant as ever in the one on one contests but his lack of pace has seen him caught out so often this year with blokes taking marks 10-15 meters in front of him. His disposal by foot this year has also been average.
