Watched the ABC replay of this game last night and interesting to see an incident replayed during the coverage, from the first term...

Eagles player Robert Eddy was taken to ground in a tackle by West's Adam Hartlett. Eddy musn't have appreciated the attention that Hartlett gave him so with Adam's forearm quite close to Eddy's face, the former St Kilda player tried to BITE the arm of his Bloods opponent.

With a mouth guard in, I don't think he got much purchase with the chompers, but an interesting choice nonetheless. I wonder whether we will hear anything more of this?

Just on Adam Hartlett, he would be easily the most improved player at Westies, if not the SANFL. Always had good ability but seems to have both his body and attitude under control. Certainly doesnt get as undiscaplined as he has in the past, just uses his aggresstion at the ball rather than the opposition. The corresponding game last year he was playing reserves (kicked that goal from about 80 metres out).

Eagles on life support. West too good esp with aerial dominance. Worrying for Eags is that it was close to their best side available today. Redden and Toumpas would have helped but not a lot else to come in.
Fear a rebuilding stage coming up for Eags with potential retirements at end of season of - Cicca, McKenzie, Parry, Jarrad and maybe Powell plus loss of Toumpas to draft.
Luck is where opportunity meets preparation
